I purchased a BNIB SoundQubed Q1-3500.1D amplifier from him. Communication, shipping time, condition of shipping materials and the amp itself were outstanding and as advertised. Couldn't have anything turn out better with this transaction. Thank you Juan.

I'm glad it got here safe too. My UPS deliverer is a little tiny woman and all I could think was "oh god, she's going to drop it out of spite for the weight.

Oh, in case anyone wants to look over my enclosure plans What I didn't put in sketch up are the window braces I'm going to put on each side of the port in between the front and rear woofer's.

Bought Juan777's SoundQubed 3500.1 to go with mine. Gonna need it. The plan is Four AA havocs on the two 3500's. The new 370 hairpin is being built, color matched to my 270. I'm also going to grab four XP3000's to give me a little reserve. Plans are in the making, just have to wait to execute unfortunately oh well. Soon enough I suppose.

It was a bitch! But I think it was worth it. I debadged the tailgate and that wasn't too bad, but the side trim pieces had a lot more adhesive to remove. I just ran fishing line behind it to cut the tape, sprayed the adhesive with goof off, then started scraping. It away. It took about 5 hours total to get off all of the adhesive. But I think it looks a little more custom with no badges. 3m eraser wheel would have been more effective and taken a lot less time. It took me maybe twenty minutes per side (left, right, rear hatch) on the Tahoe.

I'm no expert at taking pictures of lights obviously, but here are the pictures "side-by-side" for comparison. Top pictures are OEM, bottom are with the HRK5 kit. It's faint, but there is a difference. I also have the PIAA Xtreme White Plus halogen bulbs on the way to replace the not so bright Sylvania's

So, I bought the Headlight Relay Kit for the 9005/9006 lights that is made by the man himself, Tony Candela of CE Auto Electric Supply (www.ceautoelectricsupply.com). This kit is pretty heavy duty. It's very cleanly put together, and sealed tight everywhere in order to protect from corrosion. OEM harness lighting Install Relays Unplug OEM Plug OEM into HRK5 All plugged up Replay power wire attached to battery And lights after the HRK5 kit is wired. 4-hi mod with the HRK5 kit installed

Now, I know the inside cutouts where the speaker and tweeter will go look rough and ugly, but who the hell cares, because it won't be seen, and they fit in their cutouts perfectly without movement I didn't take another picture, but I made the cutouts match each other as far as shape and size go, using my jigsaw and flush trim bit. Jigsaw to make the hole big enough to fit the tweeter (that was tedious as fuck), and flush trim bit with the router to make the second one match Lots of sawdust all over my little apartment patio. And all over me. Cleanup time. In other news, I bought the B-stock 40 pounder of Damplifier/Damp pro from Second Skin with their MayDay 20% off sale And now for the bad news.... I won't be working on the audio side of the Tahoe anymore until I return from deployment, and maybe even a little while after that, so the wife and I can find a house and get out of this apartment. BUT!! Stay tuned for the cosmetic touching up I might do before I leave. Keep it real SMD!

Not a problem! Thank you for the great sale, making it so I couldn't put off buying deadener any longer. Next year after deployment I'll have to get some of the other goodies to go with it. Definitely going to need some CCF and MLV to take the cake of getting these doors a little quieter

You may not hot swapped, I'm leaning towards the LC-1 being the issue and possibly blowing the pico. There was a recent LC-1 issue thread, where one of the wires inside of it had broken it's connection and caused problems. Take the LC-1 out of play, and see if your amp still protects. If you're still getting noise but your amp no longer protects with RCA's plugged in, then it's probably the pico. If amp still protects, swap HU's and try again.
-
That's what popped into my head. If the excess noise disappears when he uses the kenwood, and the 5k stops protecting with RCA's plugged in, then that would definitely be my guess. Since the amp comes out of protect with the RCA's unplugged, that leads me to believe it's something in the line of those. How did it test when you took the LC-1 out of the loop?

Ok, last update at least until I get my new bits from 12vtools. Deadened the rear hatch yesterday, no pics, and ran a dedicated front to rear ground. I think what I'm going to do is try and find the second row captains seats that were available for the NBS escalades/yukons and put those in, designing and building the amp rack to sit between them (assuming there's enough space in between). That should give me more room in the rear for the enclosure for four 15's. Hopefully I get the bits before next week and can get started on glassing the doors and pillars. If not, it'll be sometime next year before I can update again. Stay tuned.

Got the WeatherTech vent visors and mudflaps installed. Top is the day i bought it, bottom is today I want to delete the roof rack, and I'm undecided about the side steps. Need to tint the Windows one day, but that's no big deal to me. Gonna pull the rear hatch panel off and throw some q-mat on there. Might run a dedicated ground to the front battery from the rear batt. Can't do anything about getting wood cut for the front stage until 12vtools gets some new bits out to me. Cheap bits are just that. Cheap. Time to get some recommended quality.

Well it's happy birthday to me. Wife got me a few things Not pictured, she also got me weather tech vent visors and mudflaps. I probably won't get anything done today, because she decided to skip her clinical for school, and since deployments coming up I'm gonna spend as much time together as possible. She's making me coffee and a bacon egg and pepper jack cheese bagel right now, and for dinner we're going to Texas De Brazil.

Why is that? Unless you mean that due to what I said about the area being cramped. In which case, that's what pushes me away from the kicks, but I'm also drawn to it to see if justtttt maybe I like it. I think I just need to buy some spare panels and go to town and see what's up.

Idea just occurred to me. I'll ask because I don't know and hopefully someone with more experience than me will have an answer. So, since I can't run the L8's in the kicks because of the lack of room, if I test fit the L6's for the kicks and there's enough room, would there be any issue with having the L8's in the doors for midbass, and the L6's off-axis in the kicks for mid-range? And if that will work without issue (assuming all things perfect ) how should the L8's be directed in the doors? On-axis or off? Man I hope someone sees this cause I really don't want to make a thread for this question if it's something that won't work the way I'm imagining it in my head.
