  1. Here is a good design from JoeX, who often helps in situations of enclosure design. He provided this for someone else who wanted an enclosure for their two SA-12's.
  2. Ok. I'll try and get something up for you when I get home, unless someone beats me to the draw..... Pun intended
  3. Ok. When measuring dimensions, don't forget to take into account your trunk opening.
  4. Do you have a link to the enclosure or anything? Looking at it, it doesn't look like there's enough port area, and looks like it was built for tens and given bigger cutouts for twelves. My suggestion is scrap it. Have a bonfire or something one night and toss it in with it. Build your own enclosure with the proper specs for those subs. Post up your maximum dimensions available for use, and some of the forum members on here are very willing to help get you the design that will suit your wants and your subs needs as best as possible.
  5. Upload pictures on an image hosting site such as photobucket, copy and paste the IMG link in the reply box here. Take measurements of the enclosure, to include port dimensions, or link us to the enclosure if you are able to.
  6. He hasn't said what his box specs are and you're already saying they're too small? F3 is the point at which your enclosure is 3dB less than your tuning frequency. So with what you stated as being sundowns recommended enclosure specs, for a single SA-12, 2cubic feet net volume, port tuned to 35hz, you will be down 3dB at 28hz. Using what sundown recommends, you would build an enclosure that is 4 cubic feet net volume tuned to 35hz for your two SA-12's. Is your current enclosure a prefab that you bought online somewhere, or did you build it as per a design or what?
  7. I was thinking something similar. Will there be a weather-proof/resistant model at any time do you think, Steve?
  8. I purchased a BNIB SoundQubed Q1-3500.1D amplifier from him. Communication, shipping time, condition of shipping materials and the amp itself were outstanding and as advertised. Couldn't have anything turn out better with this transaction. Thank you Juan.
  9. I'm glad it got here safe too. My UPS deliverer is a little tiny woman and all I could think was "oh god, she's going to drop it out of spite for the weight.
  10. Oh, in case anyone wants to look over my enclosure plans What I didn't put in sketch up are the window braces I'm going to put on each side of the port in between the front and rear woofer's.
  11. Bought Juan777's SoundQubed 3500.1 to go with mine. Gonna need it. The plan is Four AA havocs on the two 3500's. The new 370 hairpin is being built, color matched to my 270. I'm also going to grab four XP3000's to give me a little reserve. Plans are in the making, just have to wait to execute unfortunately oh well. Soon enough I suppose.
  12. It was a bitch! But I think it was worth it. I debadged the tailgate and that wasn't too bad, but the side trim pieces had a lot more adhesive to remove. I just ran fishing line behind it to cut the tape, sprayed the adhesive with goof off, then started scraping. It away. It took about 5 hours total to get off all of the adhesive. But I think it looks a little more custom with no badges. 3m eraser wheel would have been more effective and taken a lot less time. It took me maybe twenty minutes per side (left, right, rear hatch) on the Tahoe.

  14. Just bought the Singer 370 hairpin. Now the wait to see if I leave before it gets here....

  15. I'm no expert at taking pictures of lights obviously, but here are the pictures "side-by-side" for comparison. Top pictures are OEM, bottom are with the HRK5 kit. It's faint, but there is a difference. I also have the PIAA Xtreme White Plus halogen bulbs on the way to replace the not so bright Sylvania's
  16. So, I bought the Headlight Relay Kit for the 9005/9006 lights that is made by the man himself, Tony Candela of CE Auto Electric Supply (www.ceautoelectricsupply.com). This kit is pretty heavy duty. It's very cleanly put together, and sealed tight everywhere in order to protect from corrosion. OEM harness lighting Install Relays Unplug OEM Plug OEM into HRK5 All plugged up Replay power wire attached to battery And lights after the HRK5 kit is wired. 4-hi mod with the HRK5 kit installed
  17. Now, I know the inside cutouts where the speaker and tweeter will go look rough and ugly, but who the hell cares, because it won't be seen, and they fit in their cutouts perfectly without movement I didn't take another picture, but I made the cutouts match each other as far as shape and size go, using my jigsaw and flush trim bit. Jigsaw to make the hole big enough to fit the tweeter (that was tedious as fuck), and flush trim bit with the router to make the second one match Lots of sawdust all over my little apartment patio. And all over me. Cleanup time. In other news, I bought the B-stock 40 pounder of Damplifier/Damp pro from Second Skin with their MayDay 20% off sale And now for the bad news.... I won't be working on the audio side of the Tahoe anymore until I return from deployment, and maybe even a little while after that, so the wife and I can find a house and get out of this apartment. BUT!! Stay tuned for the cosmetic touching up I might do before I leave. Keep it real SMD!

Not a problem! Thank you for the great sale, making it so I couldn't put off buying deadener any longer. Next year after deployment I'll have to get some of the other goodies to go with it. Definitely going to need some CCF and MLV to take the cake of getting these doors a little quieter ;)

  21. Sale details link is bad Edit: never mind. Damn mobile phone.
  22. No you're right Kyle. One amp in protect, one with noise. Sorry if my explanation wasn't clear on that.
