  1. Slightly different technology than what's needed to accurately get a reading for bass, guns are loud but they're at much higher freqencies and can be picked up with normal mics, bass needs a pressure sensor, I saw the episode that was on last night and if I had to guess I'd say that it costs more than a Termlab and wouldn't be very good for the lower frequencies.
  2. Those RCA's make a tight tight fit, I've heard of them ripping inputs off boards before (though haven't encountered it with my own), just be careful putting them on and off.
  3. Buy a ton of stuff from Sonic, always here the next day, glad to see them as a supporting member
  4. There's been a few topics on concealed carry on here recently so I thought I'd give a review on a new holster I bought and have been using for a few weeks. The company is JMG holsters (http://www.jmgholsters.com/) and model is the IWB 17.0 with sweat sheild Overall I'd say this holster is exactly what I was looking for in an IWB holster, it is good quality, not too expensive, the leather is nice on it, it is cut to fit the gun tightly but not too tight to draw smoothly, covers the trigger guard the way that I like, has a life time warranty, and it tucks well into jeans and allows me to conceal carry a .45. I've looked at several other holsters in the $100+ range and aside from having a company logo on it this is essentailly the same thing, very happy with the holster, if anyone's looking for a IWB I'd suggest checking out JMG and seeing if he has something that works for your gun in a style you like. Here's some pictures:
  5. Chances are you wouldn't be able to run just tweeters off your HU because the HPF/LPF settings on your HU will aslo effect the signal the 4 channel gets.
  6. I've done a 4th order with a LVL 2 8" M1 and did 0.5 sealed and 1.125 ported. Don't remember the exact freqency I tuned to though
  7. Orion was basically running a 1 off "prototype" things go wrong on stuff that hasn't been R&D'd, and he knew that when he bought it, I don't think this reflects negatively on DC at all. I'm sure damn near every company has a bunch of subs fail when they are researching, trying new things, testing them, and because it's inside the company most people never hear about it...
  8. 3.5lbs for 25 feet? Sound's like either a typo or bad wire. I wouldn't trust that wire though in the first place, never heard of it.
  9. http://www.sgammo.com I've ordered a BUNCH from them, they have some good specials, good prices, usually same day shipping for me, and located in Oklahoma so it's only a few days to either coast.
  10. Where did you go to change your avatar, I cant seem to find it now? Click your username, then go to "edit my profile", and click "change your photo" I think we used to have a photo and an avatar seperate now it's just all in one
  11. Here's a pretty good list of laws state by state, can't verify they're 100% up to date, but I don't think you need a license to get a handugn in Texas. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_laws_in_the_United_States_%28by_state%29
  12. I got a set of HSK-165's and they're in the ~$400 range depending on which dealer you go to.
  13. I'm an economics major, no fears I'm here to fix the economy. (apparently)
  14. okay thanks..I wasnt sure it I was just wasting precious SS Yeah you can check out this page where Jon does some comparison between a CLD and other styles of "sound deadening" and it's easy to tell that multiple layers do help with reducing vibrations : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/125605-another-peel-seal-thread-but-not-what-you-think/
  15. I always get ninja'd, stupid distracting phone.
  16. Big 3 doesn't necessarily up your voltage just the amperage capacity of your charging system. Your alternator's voltage might be 14.2 at idle and without an external regulator to raise the voltage it'll probably stay at 14.2
  17. Depends on your budget... There are line out converters that are cheap ($20-50) but work, there's line driers like the RF BLD which is mid priced and a step up from a LOC and it's around $100, then there are processors like the RF 360.2 or 360.3, and Audison BitOne which are in the $500-1000 dollar range
  18. A friend of mine has a new sigma 40 and with ~500 rounds through it and ~200 of them hollow points has only had a single jam
  19. I have a decent selection of polymer handguns from Ruger/Glock/Sig/Springfield and my current conceal carry for the winter is my Sig P250 Compact .45ACP, it's an interesting gun that's not too expensive for what it is and has caliber conversion kits available too if you feel like going from one caliber to another.
  20. I had a few crappy glass fuses blow way back in the day, and I purposely set off a 300a ANL once and damn near had a heart attack, way louder than I thought a pop would be.
