  1. If you haven't already purchased the amp you could go with a Kenwood KAC-9105D instead and would only leave you 100 watts under rms on the pair. Granted you could take the time to read around the forums a bit and get a bit more knowledge on how some things work and could go a different route all together.
  2. Sorry to hear about your loss. Remember all the good times you had together and stay positive man.
  3. I know this is old and was bumped but if still available can you get me a price shipped to Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada, b1p 2v5.
  4. Best bet is build a new box, tune the subs to the same frequency, like mentioned above, you'll still play loud and get the lows as well, without it sounding like ass.
  5. Sorry for your loss. With how close you's were I sure he would understand.
  6. Shitty deal. Hopefully you'll have some luck finding a replacement.
  7. Thought so but since I've never tried to run anything besides a sub off the sub output wasn't 100% if it would make a difference, was pretty sure it did but didn't want to just say it would and be wrong. Thanks for clearing that up.
  8. If your using all three sets of preouts, isn't one of those designated for a sub output? perhaps it doesn't matter before it gets to the amp as I've never tried it. Perhaps someone will clear that up though. But if it does matter and your using the sub output to run your rears that would be why. I assume your running 2 amps, one for the fronts and a separate for the rear? If your 4 channel amp has a 2/4 channel mode you should be able to use it in 2 channel mode, with the front rca's to that amp and run all 4 front speakers from it still. Then just use the normal rear rca's to the second amp for the 6x9's.
  9. I'm assuming Line-X is a rubberized black paint? Like bedliner or Rock Guard? if so i'd do it for sure. I think it would look better and should give you a little extra protection on the bottom of the truck if you do plan on taking it off road.
  10. I could use something to hold me over till I can get my hands on what I want, if you'll ship to Canada get me a quote on the kit shipped to B1P 2V5.

  12. New car, 03 Cavalier, time for an install

  13. I'd personally prefer a digital read out as well, but this does look great as is. With a small digital readout on it I would think it would be perfect to my tastes, but it's really just a preference thing I could imagine this causing a light show in a vehicle that doesn't have the electrical to backup the system. I know it's designed for the purpose of keeping you aware and avoiding issue's, I just assume some people will just buy it and use it in a shitty install just to have it. Nice work, and 16V+ version would probably sell really well.
  14. Just make sure it's a nice solid connection and as stated clean it down to bare metal and you'll be alright.
  15. Your subs are dual voice coil, so use both sets of terminals on the subs. As for your options for wiring, look here it has both options for 1ohm and 4ohm shown: http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=42#results Also according to the specs on the amp it should be 1ohm stable.
  16. Why is that?. At least remove the carpet where it screws down, and clean up any paint on the metal so it has a clean contact. If the ground is your issue it should clean it up pretty easy. If not and nothing else fixes it try moving it to a better ground location.
