i had 6k between 4 Lv3s ( lv 4 coils and extra spider) daily no problem at all

Probly tough to find an alt tho Since not many diesel owners will hold their trucks at 2000rpm

how much is your sub moving when it makes that noise? could be "bottoming it out" the tripple joint will hit the motor before the coil hits backplace and that makes a tick/pop noise

have you tried subs forward port up?

whats the box config.? i know in my truck, 2 18 Fi btls on an AQ3500.1 subs forward port up, it would play down to 20hz no problem.. ( tuned to 34) so, i cut the port down and tuned it to "42hz" ( on paper) and i brought peak up to 29 and also had a peak around 46 or so as well.. subs forward port up seems to work best in my truck ( before i walled it) subs up port side also seemed to work ok

finally someone else says it other them me!!!! i had an AQ3500.1 and it was louder.. and sounded 10X better then a SD8k the SD8k had my subs HOT in less then a minute with no clipping.. the SD amps are great for SPL tho!

Box is a bit on the small side IMO id get the net volume up to around 3- 3.5 cubes myself

You can get almost EVERY sub with that style basket

Alot of high output alts have no idle output especialy if in the stock casing My 425a alt does shit at idle

amps are at 1.6 strapped right now.. (saz 4500s 2 of them ) it was at .8 strapped but i didnt have enough rise to keep the amps from protecting ( only rose to 2 ohm on a burp) so.. id get 3/4 ish volume then they would protect.. every now and then the amps wouldnt protect and shit was retarrdedd at .8 strapped i was clamping 11400rms with not much electrical ( well. not enough for 2 4500s at .4 ea) i had 1 425A alt and 2 oddesy batts. i want to rewire to .8 strapped now that i have much more electrical it just takes a few hours to pull subs and rewire them basically anything i play.. is oud from 25hz-60hz ish wall is 16 cubes and tuned to " 42 hz " on paper but i can do a 149.8@30hz!! and if i meter outlaw style i can do a 155.5@44hz if i could keep the amps from protecting... and get a little more port area im sure theres a 155db leagl.. sealed on the dash! theres no work done to the box since it was built.. we bbuilt the wall in less then 2 days as well.. didnt get much sleep but was welll worth it! will update as i work on it, next on the list is to rebuild the doors

i dont think a bad ground would make the amp take more voltage. id do the rest of the big 3 before buying anything but another bat never hurts With a bad ground it will seriosly affect voltage drop..

Try a 3.5mm to RCA into amp if possible If that works id say its possibly RCA or the deck Can try grounding your rcas to deck (like pioneer usuers do)

Most crx's are built for spl, tuned high and not for daily applications There are however a few who have built "daily" crx's
