  1. If I purposely want to blow a sub by wiring to a strong amp, do I risk damaging the amp when the sub pops.

      The worse thing I've done was blow a fuse on a kicker amp. I wanted to see how much power a $20 vr3 sub I had for 18 yrs. It was rated for 200 watts Maxx 75 rms. It fried the coils to melting point at 600 watts blew at totally at 900 watts :) . Took days for the smell go away. That's my experience with that sir.

      Ken, you are not supposed to openly bash forum vendor brands, especially ones that will go back and delete YOUR comments that prove THEM wrong. Since you are using the DC, go ahead, it's protection circuit works last I knew lol.

      You wont blow that DC amp doing it. You know somethings wrong with a group of amps when you have one of the most reputable guys on the forum saying they need to do something about the protection circuit.
