Personally i would bend it back and call it day to have an amp that works, but hey that's me. When you pay a buck a watt then come and complain cause cheap amps are just that!

It gets by everyone cause they don't package it themselves. It gets packaged at the manufacturers site and shipped off with bent product or not, and then it goes out to a customer to find out it is defective in some way mechanically, electrically or cosmetically, there's not much a company can do but either tell a customer to return it or use it.

Often times anymore i just use the internet unless the local shop has what i need and would rather pay the price for it right now rather than wait the extra couple of days for it to be delivered.
