Should be fine for under the hood and the voltage looks to be good also. Sounds like he doesn't know what he is talking about. He might have mixed up the XP series not being to be used under the hood which would be a bad idea. -
That really blows, i really hate thieves. Sorry for the loss man i hope somehow things turn out for the best some time in the future.

It gets by everyone cause they don't package it themselves. It gets packaged at the manufacturers site and shipped off with bent product or not, and then it goes out to a customer to find out it is defective in some way mechanically, electrically or cosmetically, there's not much a company can do but either tell a customer to return it or use it.

Often times anymore i just use the internet unless the local shop has what i need and would rather pay the price for it right now rather than wait the extra couple of days for it to be delivered. Later this year i want to get another set of Hertz hsk speakers for the car and like you it is an 80 mile drive to the nearest location, but the closest store is Collection Auto Group which would be a pilgrimage anyway to see all the badass rides he has there. https://www.facebook.com/collectionautogroup?ref=profile

As long as you don't smoke coils everything else will be pretty much under warranty. Just send off an email or pm and you'll get it taken care of.
