    I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the majority of Bass, I Love You is below 35Hz. Playing below box tuning will cause unloading, so essentially the woofer would behave as if it would free-air. You don't want that...

    I was actually on the phone with DD last year sometime, asking this very question. THEY seemed to be all right with the idea, but it also may have been out of an effort to sell me the woofer.
