  1. Meh I'll have a warranty swap tomorrow. But it makes sense now how it's happened so many times.
  2. I didn't swap amps, although I did disconnect my rcas to reroute them... The amps were powered up but not playing. I've been searching like crazy, and just read that plugging in rcas while amp is on can cause it. Dammit. That makes since with the other two also....
  3. Basically as title states.... I've just had my new Kenwood screen suffer this fate. I was doing some mods to my enclosure and when I turned the headunit on.... BAM!! Engine whine like crazy! This will be my third Kenwood screen in about a year that has suffered this fate, fortunately warranty is pretty easy for me. But it seems so many failures would raise a red flag as to me doing something wrong. Help me out guys cuz I would really like to prevent this issue if possible
  4. I'd be willing to bet part of the reason is cuz its available in blue, fosgate is only red or gray. Great work man!! Keep it up!
  5. That would be why.... I sent it to the email Steve posted above, [email protected]. not tonyd. Figures. Okay ill email you as soon as I'm home from work.
  6. So what was the problem? My DD1 is doing the same thing now, I've tried emailing Tony twice now with no response. I understand you guys are busy so I'm not stressed over it, but I'd like to get this tool working properly again.
  7. That was a good move on your part. i did mine exactly the same way. i was able to squeeze 36 cubes out of my little explorer like that. box is huge and heavy but fit like a glove. my only recommendation is that you bolt it down really well. if it slides right in that means it will easily slide forward as well. i know your not a noob so im sure youve already thought of this
  8. looking good so far. i want to do 4 15s or 3 18s in my next 4th. gotta finish this one first lol
  9. you could use a battery isolator solenoid and use the turn on input to switch it on or off
  10. i didnt mean any disrespect man. sorry if it came off that way. i understand trying to figure shit out when youre tired
  11. shouldnt have to go anymore then halfway on the gain. usually 1/3-1/2 on gain is appropriate as a generalization
  12. sorry bro but its pretty obvious in this pic that its wired parallel. safe to assume the other negative goes to the negative coil on the right side in the pic. hes probably running a dual 2 ohm so hes getting 1 ohm at the amp
  13. Pm me these three tasks Ray, i wanna see if im up to par. ive been an installer for almost 3 years now. but a lot of quick stuff, like deck n 4 or amp n sub. most of the custom work ive done has been on my own vehicle
  14. oh man!! 19v stable too??? this amp is badass! this will look great with my 3k
  15. One 12 is about 113 sq in, one 15 is about 178 sq in. So 452 vs 534. Pretty big difference, but if he can fit 3 15s, he could fit 6 12s. That would be a bit more cone and similar enclosure volume
  16. Same excursion, go for cone area. The excursion deal would come into play with say two Sony xplods vs say an AA SMD. only comparing excursion here, not cone area so thats why I didn't specify what size driver
  17. Most entry level woofers are low excursion vs higher rated ones. That's not always true, just an observation. That being the case, excursion should be accounted for in a comparison like this. Honestly I'm not sure of the calculation exactly, hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in
  18. 110 that bitch!! like nate said, you havent lived til youve done that!
  19. I have them somewhere. I'll try to post them tonight
