For that much power I would suggest checking with toolmaker for a custom distro block.

OK then get the cap and isolator out of there and sell them if you can. Then put two S3400 under the hood in place of the optimas and call it a day.

I have been doing this for a while and the only sweet smell we usually get from our batteries is the sweet smell of Victory in the lanes!!! Ok just had too. Never heard of the batteries giving off a sweet smell. You sure it is the batteries? If there is an issue with the batteries and charging they will get hot and you will smell a sulfur egg smell. Maybe you purchased the upgraded batteries that come with built in air fresheners? If they are XP series then you may hear some gurgling sound when charging until they are broken in good. Some have a small amount of excess liquid in the top of them, and until the plates break in the liquid can not absorb into the glass mat material. After they are broken in the liquid absorbs in and they are stronger than ever.

That is BS!!! Look up the Coast Guard regulations for marine batteries. Batteries - Must be secured so they cannot be moved more than 1" in any direction; terminals must be protected so that metallic objects cannot contact ungrounded terminals (positive battery terminal); and be vented to permit the discharge of hydrogen gas. Batteries cannot be installed directly above or below a fuel tank, fuel filter or fuel line fitting. If using a sealed AGM type battery, then the batteries do not have to be vented.

You could run 100 12V batteries and they are not going to keep you up in the mid to high 13V range on a system that is pulling more than your alternator can handle. 12V batteries are only going to be able to keep you at 12.9V once a load is placed on them. Anything over 12.9V is alternator power. So, if you have a 10K watt systems that is pulling around 1,000amps of power you would need around 1,050 amps of alternator power to stay in the 13V range. If you do not have this alternator power and your seeing voltage over 13V on a load with a 10K system, then you are not pulling anywhere close to the rated power.

What is your voltage doing now? Do you play for long periods with the car off?

You are not going to stay at 13V at max 6-7K watt draw with a 270amp alt. You will drop into the 12V range. 12V batteries only rest at 12.9V. So on a 600amp draw you would have lets say 230amps from the alt going to the system (40 to run the vehicle with ac and all the electrical) and the rest pulling from the batteries. That would be 370amps coming from the three batteries or approx 123 amp per battery. That will put you in the 12V range. Only way to stay in the 13V range is to have a lot more alt power.

I will bring it up and see if there is anything in the works.

If you didn't smell sulfur, then you should be fine.

If the battery is whistling then I would guess you have some high voltage going to it at some time. That is primarily the case for having one whistling. At some point the battery gets too high of voltage and it causes the vent covers to raise up, which can cause a whistle. Did you smell sulfur? If not then you are probably still good to go. How old is the battery?
