  1. what box calculator are you using? because when i punch it into torres calculator, i end up with a tuning of 32.91hz before woofer or bracing displacement. lets just say you were to do minimal bracing, with woofer displacement you would be sitting around 36hz with a net volume of 5.21ft^3. maybe a little re design is in order. im not the best with box designing, i know a little bit, but ive only begun to chip the ice. but if you are set on tuning at 33hz with 6 cubes, you might want to play around with the design a little bit. also port area seems low to me. at 96.75 in^2, but i could be wrong.

  6. so i finally figured out the problem. and i dont even know how i overlooked this, but either way it happned. i didnt realize that there was one small, and im talking like 22 guage small, wire that was supposed to be hooked up to the fuse box on the positive, and that one little fuckin wire was causing all my problems. needless to say i was more pissed than i have been in a long time. so pissed i havent even drove it since i fixed it. thats been about 3 days now. yea

  10. LMFAO and anyone that knows a/c at all knows exactly why i am laughing... ** digging for old ac books to see how wrong i was** Read all you want. Its real life experience that teaches you things to look for. Most books wont cover a lot of the tricks you pick up working in the field. Gee, sounds like a lot of other hands on jobs.. i dont have much hands on in the ac field. i remember what little i did back in the day a few years ago, but i dont have the most expierence. im more of a transmission guy myself, but i still know my way around the rest of the car as well. there is still a lot i have to learn, but i try. lol

  12. line pressures realy arnt good for much except telling someone weather or not they have refrigerant or not. thats the shitty part about ac systems, there realy is no way to truely diagnose a major failure, aside from physically examining the entire system, which takes hella time, and costs a ton on the labor side of things. however if you are good at diagnosing ac systems, there is a lot of money to be made as a tech. if it were me i would just forget about the ac and roll with windows down. that white fog was more than likely the refrigerant, and the only way for that to get into the plennum to get out the vents is through the condensor, which means the dash more than likely has to come out, then if it damaged the ductwork beyond repair there is no telling how high the cost can go. ive seen people pay up to $2k to have their ac systems reworked, and the fuckers still leaked.
  13. Either that or the high pressure switch failed, and the compressor kept building pressure until a weak spot in the line burst. Either way that ac system needs a massive overhaul
  14. Sounds like the cOmpressor was run without oil. In which case it's trash. Doesn't explain the fog. Unless the condenser blew up internally, in which case the white fog would be the refrigerant. I wouldn't recommend breathing that in, but I'd I remember right smoking cigarettes is worse.
  15. people seem to be mad when you get them on the final kill cam..... with a throwing knife.

  16. It all started with a regular saturday night chillin with a few buds up at the local sams club. its around 12:30 ish, we are all about ready to call it a night when we see the L&H van roll by, they decided to pull in and have a little fun. ive been meaning to get a walk around of this van for a while now, and i figured why not. the van isnt finished yet, they stil have some beefing up to do on the electrical side of things, but the voltage drop isnt the worst ive ever seen. i think the lowest i saw it go tonite was around 12.9. could use a little help, but it isnt too bad. i will definatly get an equipment list and a better walkaround video soon. When i asked the dude how they set the gains he said one chamber at a time they set them by ear. lets just say i have an appointment with them next week so they can set them gains properly with a dd1. they said if they like the process they will definatly invest in a dd1/cc1 combo kit. well enough chat. on to the video. http://www.youtube.com/embed/1D9XlReGE88 EDIT: how do you embed a video now days?
  17. i was going to get a video walkthrough, and a video of how it slowly dies tonite, but my phone died before i had the chance. ill get one for you fellas tomorrow. edit: i tried grounding the block and got nothing. i looked up the TSB's and one stuck out to me. it said to check the alternator ground, which is the mounting bracket, i checked it and it is grounding out like it should. i even tried running a wire from the negative side of the battery to the alternator mounting bracket, and then to the alternator case. i got absolutely nothing. im going to get in contact with honda tomorrow and see if i could get some copies of the schematics that they have, and go over the cars electrical once again. im only hoping that the schematics on mitchell have a mistake, otherwise there will very likely be a video of me pushing this car into the lake. seriously, im that pissed off at it.
  18. i think i have an old sun vat-40 chillin in the barn somewhere, i might have to dig it out tomorrow.... hopefuly it still works, and hopefuly i can remember how to work the thing. my mac tools rep wont get back with me to get my amp clamp replaced. damn car tires runnin over shit. ive checked the charging wire. it has continuity
  19. not likely. ive gone over the wiring under the hood at least 5 times. and i dont recall seeing anything like that. ill check again in the morning, but i highly doubt there would be a pinched wire
  20. 1994 honda accord ex, non vtech alright fellas i need your help on this one. ive been stuck for about 2-3 weeks on this one. it all started after a simple clutch job. no big deal right?, wrong. after everything was back in and put back together, i had this weird electrical problem. here is what happens. the car will start up and run just fine for about ten minutes, then all of a sudden the tachometer will quit working, and all electronics will start to fade off. the car will start running like complete crap until it completely dies. then i have to charge the battery back up and begin the process over again. during his process i can hook my dvom up to the battery and literaly watch the voltage drop. by this point you are saying simply replace the alternator. right?, wrong. i pulled the alternator off and had it checked, came back good, had the battery checked, came back good. i replaced the battery anyway because it was 5 years old, and time for a new one anyway. so now you are proably saying its gotta be the ELD, thats what i thought, so i replaced it, i was wrong. same issue. i even bypassed the ELD, and still nothing, which leads me back to the alternator. i said fuck it and replaced the alternator along with the belts. and yet i am still having the same issue. i did a paricidic draw test on it, and came up with nothing. it was only pulling a tiny ammount of current something like an eigth of an amp. ive gone over all the wiring about 5 times with schematics, and everything checks out exactly where it should be. im at a loss with this one, especially since it didnt have any of these problems before i did the clutch, which doesnt make any since, i only pulled maybe 4-6 connectors apart, and i am 1000% sure they all made it back where they are supposed to go. the only thing that hasnt made its way back yet is the speed sensor, since i need a new one, but that wasnt there when i bought the car, and i didnt have any issues with the car before the clutch job. any ideas?
