Making a box for the battery next time would be a far better option... As for the amp, nothing to look for really If it's water damage. It might have just fried the board I would assume. Look for any blown resistors or anything. Never turn on an electronic device that has been exposed to water. I always open them up if possible and let sit for a few days or else you can short shit out.

I would have gone more towards 4-5 cf myself and 30-35 hz tuning. My lvl 5 12 is in 2.5 cf with 17 cf port tuned to 37 hz and it hits very strong down to about 26 hz.

Just because you're tuned low doesnt mean the lows will be loud. Lows are much more power hungry than high notes and this is where cone area comes into effect too.
