Aero's are more efficient yes, but they basically do the same thing. That being said, I think slot ports are sexier.

how many run's 1/0 would i need for
tonedeaf replied to pittross's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Not sure what your asking. You say you have the stock battery and alt. What you need to be worried about is how many batteries you need in the back, what size new alt you will be getting, etc. With your current setup, all you need is one run of 1/0 because you arent going to a battery bank from my understanding and your alt isnt putting out enough amperage to warrant needing more than one run of 1/0. -
Since its a lower power build, id say a single amp will do you just fine. Will probably be the cheaper option anyways.
-
What frequency are you wanting to run? Many use shallow mount 8" and 10" subs. Although some midrange woofers can play as far down as 50hz with pretty impressive response.

not always true, you could have hella impedance rise with 1 amp, switch to 2 or 4, and have quite a bit less rise, and get more power out of the lower model amps instead of 1 bigger one... Hmmmmm interesting. Why would one amp have more rise than multiple amps? More resistance due to bigger internals, less wiring, etc. I.E. look at fuses. Using two 150 amp fuses in a block is less resistance than using a 300 amp fuse in a fuse holder.

very sweet ride

Its like 'unlocking' the RPMs, like the difference between the limited street cars and their unlocked brothers and sisters on the track. If I didnt want to load my civic down with audio, I would consider this. But with four bangers, its light and fast or heavy and slow. Makes me a sad panda sometimes. Who knows, I might go crazy and go for a B at some point though. -
As Derek said, box design ftmfw. I want to do a sixth order but no room is ftl.

You wouldn't get any bass into the cab without cutting the hole. The hole normally acts as the port for the sound to enter into the cab from a fourth order for example. So chop the truck, or be very limited with your sound. IMO anyone with a reg cab truck who doesn't do a blowthrough = pussy.

LVL 4 Thermal Issues.

^^^ I always check for double bass/loud hu settings before the amp. If a friend tries to touch the settings, break his hand. -

Not bad but never really cared for the song too much. What does the song peak at? -

Alternator limitations on 4 cylinders?
tonedeaf replied to Afterparty's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
DCpower told me the reasoning is because they cant really be much bigger since the limited space you have in the bay to have a bolt in replacement. Something about they have to spin and work harder then the larger case GM alts. In my civic you can run dual alt, but you will probably need to lose your A/C for it. I think DC power offered a 260 amp alt for my 4 cyl though, id try them. Ive heard good things about beatbox's alt company from a few buddies. -
So currently I'm working as a temp at a local factory (yeah, like the song. -.-) and am fed up with it. I turn 21 in June and am wanting to do something with my life. Ive always been the kinda guy who's out to try anything and that carries over to my work. I have done everything from construction to retail and am wanting something more than that dead end job where I look back at my life 20 years from now and say "WTF, why am I stuck." Noones wants this from life I understand, but the difference is I actually am going to change it. So my question is what does the SMD peeps think? Give me an example of how you turned it all around and did something or your plans to do so. What stopped you from doing it? I'm wanting suggestions on where to start. College, marines/military, just something. I'd love to do it like they do in the movies and just go for it, but bills deem that impossible. I think the major thing is we get in the way of ourselves too much. I believe if you want to do anything and truly work at it, you can. But what is blocking the way to just doing it? I'm thinking of a ton of things ranging from architecture to welding to military, etc. Or start up my music career, just something different then just putting in my time for shut money with no return. Might be a good topic for discussion.
