      I'm a little late to this but my mom had a pretty severe stroke after having a severe heart attack. She is as recovered as she'll be, which means she does require oxygen (due to her smoking for 40+ yrs) and she has trouble speaking at times. But fully able to move, walk, do things. Early forced retirement on her. When I first saw her, it was too much for me to handle. She couldn't talk period. All she could do is nod her head yes or no.
