  1. So my friend's head unit was cutting out at high volume. Stock wiring wasn't enough. 10ga power and ground. Yup that did it. Not excessive at all

I do a new ground but when I'm only using RCA outputs and I have a single din no screen, I have never had a problem with stock power

No reason to "upgrade" the connections for a headunit in a dash. If a deck is cutting in and out, the issue is with in the charging system as a whole OR bad connections from the installer ;) The whopping 15a it pulls should never be an issue for and factory wire harness.

Best buy did it and I was seeing a fair bit of voltage drop at the head unit. Think: Charging voltage being 14v and head unit voltage being in the 10v range. Not sure what it was but it was just easier to run new wires than track it down lol. Stock wiring was 20ga according to my wire strippers, so who knows
