  3. Which sundown amps?? I can put my finger on a lot of amps my dd-1 and cc-1 has tuned... 5 different Sundown 4500s, some of them multiple times because things in the install have been changed. 2 Sundown NS-1s 1 Sundown 200.4 1 Sundown 100.2 2 Sundown 100.4 and theres probably been more that Im forgetting. All amps still working 100%, and hell I probably have misc videos doing so. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9Z57r1NsEI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZJAlKetlUY just proof your full of it. I was quoting db-r lol
  4. more No the damage type that is occurring is a VIOLENT type of damage, I don't know how else to describe it. You could not mess up the protect circuit by clipping the amp.... It's f******* up a part of the protect circuit in the amp. I don't know why, DONT CARE WHY, DD-1 is not my product. I'll let Steve Mead and Tony DAmore figure that one out. I just know what it's messing up, don't know how/why. You CANNOT damage the protect circuit in the manner that it is being damaged in these cases, by turning the amp gains up. I didn't say the DD-1 was going to mess up ALL Sundown Amps, I said it may have messed up .0005% of them. And it could have been user error or something. The particular damage done, was ONLY DONE by users of DD-1's and/or people who touched the +12V wire to the case of the amp, about 50% of the cases, they said it happened right after they setup the amp with the DD-1. That's what I said.
  5. I read the whole thing....this is what he's saying about the damage Yes we have seen lots of Sundown amps go into protect after using the DD-1 all of them had similar damage in the protect circuit. It may be a defect in SOME DD-1 units, or the way it was used, or some other unforeseen condition that exists to cause the problem. I don't know, I do not own a DD-1, don't need it, I have oscilloscopes. Only other input I could add to this, is that we have seen similar damage to the amps in question when someone uses "grounded" RCA jacks or when someone has grounded RCA Jacks AND touches the + batt wire to the case of the amp by accident. So I don't know if maybe people that are using the DD-1 and it sends the amp in protect are trying it over an over for an hour trying to figure out why it keeps going into protect and that is what damages the protect circuit or if it is doing ALL of the damage to the protect circuit at once does the DD-1 have a multi-way 1/8th inch jack that has the RCA outputs/inputs AND the + DC power (to charge or power the unit) on the same plug? If so, while plugging that in, the plug goes by the contacts and if the +DC part connects to the RCA Shield or Tip part, could and WILL cause the problem.
  6. no foam....if it's small holes just cover in the damplifier, will seal it
  7. On the 7500 only? Xs just posted that themselves on another forum
  8. The model # isn't the intended wattage Its the group size....d3100= group 31, D3400=group 34 and so on
  9. oh and I'm running the amp at .33 which doesn't help lol
  10. lol no, I wish 14v Depending on songs, but low 13v usually which is perfectly fine with me Some strong high notes can go low 12's But I also have my batteries in the bed and amp in the cab so my ground/positives are pretty long. With the amp right next to them it might help
  11. Idk, would be close I'm using 3 for my bc5500d + 1 under the hood and it holds it pretty good, but I don't see it supporting the 7.5k for extended playing time
  12. I've done it with no roller You can use the handle side of a big screwdriver or the rounded side of the head on a big ratchet to push it down
  13. hazardous waste facility....the local one here you don't even have to get out of your car, drive thru ftw lol
