I think its more like if the bear shits in the woods or not... -
I think we both agree qsc makes some nice shit! If you were micing the snare from the bottom for the sound of it, try using a PZM. I use the Shure beta 91A, but it on the ground under the snare (on a small towel to get rid of stage vibrations) and it sounds really nice. I think it was the ride i could hear quite prominently in the mix. What overheads did you have? I quite like having a single one over the whole kit and a HH one miced from underneath. Im constantly seeing new things that other engineers do that i want to try. Like the 91 on the snare, saw that when I was doing stage for House Of Shem earlier in the year.

I will try take a video tomorrow of my subs doing work, they are the shitter version of the ones your looking at (they are in my sig) and they go pretty hard for what they are. the box i have them in atm is too big but that is just because i want to upgrade my subs soon so i built a bigger box so i could put something with a bit more grunt in it

could be this. what are you wiring to the amp? model numbers would help greatly how do you have it wired to the amp? i thought this normally put it into protect though?

true hah if you get someone with a couple of les pauls you stage will feel it hah. I also hope your planning on covering it with something. bacause im assuming you will be stacking your pa on the stage (if not you may have to at somestage so this could be something to think about) but with the subs being on a hard stage like that you will get a fair few vibrations coming through your mic stands and into your mics.

No problem man, I'd rather have too much criticism than too little. I actually was thinking about that, but I don't know how stable it would be...I'm going to try the 4x4's with bolts and see how that works. Just wish there was an easier way to keep them attached. what about circles? haha like a 2" cylinder or something, one that is pernimently attacked to the stage somehow. then a slightly smaller tube that is used as the leg and slides in. Should be really sturdy if its attached to the stage nicely
-
Hey man, Just a little idea id through out there for you. It would allow you to take the legs out easy peasy for transport. and also it means you can make in time different height stages, or do tied stages like in your picture but instead of needing to have a seperate staging peice ontop of the normal height one you can just chuck some taller legs on it. You might not need the double brace, but i dont know how stable it will be. Some sort of locking system to keep the leg in place might be a good idea oh and sorry for posting on like every thread you make haha

yeah i'm surprised aussie doesn't have more dealers and importers. cause it not a small ass country like we are -
I know mrd6 mentioned it. But the ohm loads would be my biggest thought, I would have to go with 2 15's or if you have the space 2 18's. Seems to work nicer

Hah well seeing as we are a tiny ass country. I really don't see the market for it down here to make it worth it. If I had the money's though I'd become a distributor though. I'd also bring down some xs batts. As the best we have are yellow tops!! Is there a distribution in Australia if not do both! Don´t anger yourself in Europe is near the same shit, american brand´s 2.5 times the prices than in the US and you get only a vew of them. Yeah the downside of being on such a awesome forum is you get to see the awesome shit that isn't available to us. Hah -

Cheers Jon. I had every intention to register to your website and do it through there. But living outside the USA it wouldn't let me register so I thought I'd ask on here
