I think it would be best to turn gains DOWN to match an amplifier that you decide to be the MASTER amp. Since the knobs can be turned SO minutely I don't think the power loss would be noticeable.

Is it actually a car sub or is it originally meant for a PA system / tower driver?

Thats one i was looking at getting but didnt wanna spend that much... i guess i will need to save a little more to take the advise from the guy with a nice array of car audio products. so would that one be a good choice then? edit: also noticed you got the same h/u as i got. its a nice unit Got any equipment to sell? Might make that extra $$ quick.

what is this for? Maybe I missed something in here, but it seems like he just asked a question. That black coating will not reflect light onto the road . The housing are not real projector housings.

EBay! Lol. As long as the reflective surface is silver you should be alright. There are some "halo" housings on eBay that I like. Don't get the black backed housing's. Do you plan on getting hids?

Those black housings suck BIG TIME. I ordered some for my blazer. I blacked out the front end of my truck and installed those housings. With my HIDs I had next to ZERO output. I could see reflective items like stop signs and license plates. Looks nice on the truck but doesn't perform.

As long as the power is clean. You should be okay. Just understand that the sub will not perform to its potential on half rms

Sounds like the battery is just about done for. I think replacing it with a stock battery would be OK. You can look into XS, kinetic or even optima for an upgrade.
