subwoofer box help
andale927 replied to Ian Macfadgen's topic in Pro Audio / Home Audio / Home Theatre
Honestly that response curve looks horrible. Ignore the manufacturer specs for the sub just see what models best in winisd. Don't limit it to 1 cube. -
Holy shit... I wish I had room for more motor to handle 10k...

I wish my local shop had a termlab...

It's not clipping.... You had your subsonic filter set wrong. What is your box tuned to? -

$220 Budget for second battery
andale927 replied to ZachG's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
I would buy a used D3400 from someone who has a high output alt in there sig... haha -
You can run it at .5 but I personally wouldn't run it if my voltage dropped below 13.5. When voltage drops more current is needed and that is what will end up blowing your amp. (probably)
-
Is that actually bad? If you have the gain down it shouldnt be a problem... should it?
-
Yeah, you will definitely at least double current draw
-
Go get your battery load tested.... You shouldnt be dropping that much. My aq2200d dropped from 13.8 to 13.1 on 100% stock electrical.
-
IT IS TRUE. But don't worry about it. And I hate when people think it is possible for a battery to rest at 13.1v. Any battery that reads 13.1 volts obviously still has a float charge from being charged with an alternator. Highest open circuit voltage possible is 12.80 volts after sitting for 24 hours and usually 12.7+ indicates a full charge

I like using the Stone spray paints, it covers all imperfections and looks like you have a rock in your trunk!

Go to newegg.com and look at the amperage on the 12v line. Something with 200 amps can be found but its not cheap... This does 180 amps at 12v http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817194092
-
That depends on your tuning... Just set you subsonic filter to 3-5hz below what your box is tuned to. If your btl is sealed.... well thats a problem
-
Nope it could be a billion, doesn't matter lol really? so when i start the car it only start with the first one? Yes. Thats what a battery isolator does. Allows power into the battery (from the alt, thru the main, into the 2nd) but doesn't allow power to go from the 2nd to the main. ok this is were it gets messy when it come to batts because every one tells me i dont need a isolator is i wiring them parallel?? You definitely don;t need an isolator. Only time a battery isolator would help is if you were running a non agm battery up front.

plasti-dip?
andale927 replied to 95legwagon's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
I love plastidip, I used it on my rear badges but might turn out expensive. $9 a can may need 5-6 for a nice uniform coat on a 6 cube box
