  1. I don't no anyone with an IB setup that has sealed there trunk up, it's not called infernate for nothing, Yes you will get better bass if it is more seales but you don't do IB because you want to put more work in for less reward, I ran a pioneer IB 10" back in the day when I used my car for work and put it this way it was better then nothin at all And there cheap as well and take sweet fa power to run so no upgrade needed If I was you mate look at the fiib3 12" and feed it 3-400rms of good clean power Then just make a new rear shelf out of 5/8 mdf and put a good set of 6x9 or 6.5 un there as well and he'll have a clean not over the top system with a full usable trunk
  2. If each coil is 1.5 ohm Your final load is 1.5ohm
  3. That's why you always tell people port it through the rear shelf and then the position of the seat has nothing to do with it, A few boxes where the rear seats were modifed and the centre removes then trimed to look front seats so the subs were always on display
  4. Where you from, as in austuralia 99.8% of installers have hever herd of them either, I use most of the brand suggested with exception to orbision, and just wish some companys would bring them in, so shipping wasn't so high, but why would they when the can sell mainstream brands at 3-4 times the price you get them for, Once I started install theis sub, word of mouth soon got around that they can have a cheap sub(well cheap to us) that will go loud and sound good doing it for less the 1/2 of the mainstream brands
  5. The bottom ones are just standard ported box, there only that way si as everything can be seen through arm rest or rear centre seat
  6. That box has been built, it was for a single 15" In 2.5 net @ 35hz It wast exact to that drawing as that was a concept. Looked good but didn't work so well, it was ported through the middle seat in a Holden vs statesman
  7. Idd def go 33-35 if not 37hz if you want it loud 35 will give you a bit of both, I've built my far share of 40+hz boxes for 15" mostly kicker stuff and for people who are more concerned about being herd then hearing the music they way it should be, I just finished a box for a single 12 at 47hz cose he wanted it built exactly to the mainfactorys specs, Tuning high is ok if that's your thing but if you lission to any rock or live music you missout a bit I've found 35-38hz is as high as I like to go on 15's and remain musical but 32-33 is number that I like to tune most to as it just seems to work well in a lot cars and different sub sizes
  8. there are a few options, 4th order ported through rear shelf in stock sub position (stealth look), then you dont need to keep the arm rest down all the time or through the arm rest and leave it down all the time also standard ported box sub/ port fwd forward aero ported sub fwd port through rear shelf, either in a v design or standard box, theis boxes do not suit your car or sub but they will give you a good idea of what you want, and can do, also disregard the measurements as not all of these boxes are correct
  9. 1 thing I think you not looking at is 1 L7 15 has the same cone area of a 17" round So to be at the same cone area you would need 2 18" subs, So 2 round 15" will have less cone but will they be quiter or louder, noone can say for sure as car and box play a big part Will they sound better I say yes I had my L7 15 in 7cuft ported on a zx1000.1 and it went well for what it was I'm not sure what size box yours were in Another thing to consider is if going say a single orb or Sa/skar what ever brand you chose if you get a final load of 4 ohm per sub you can get another one latter if your not completely satisfied At 4ohm you amp should make around 750-800rms and 15-1600 @2ohm So off that basses you could get a single 15 orb and run it at 750rms and if you want more get another, But if you get a bl or q you'll need a final load of 2 ohm and give it full power I have herd a FiQ18 seales in 5cuft with plenty if stuffing on 1000rms and sounded good and got low but it you could notic it was missing the output that ported give you If you have the space a FiQ18 ported in low 30 will give plenty of output if you ask me YouTube is another good place to look but to compare sound it's not so good
  10. The FiQ is fi's sq sub range, So yes will yield far better sq then their bl or sundown or scar, But again it's all then box As for louder no, but not by much, The incress in sq to me far outways the loss in output, but again that me If you want loud then 2 orb 15's will do it for the price Myself I like the sundown Sa or z range, another good brand to look at 2 sa12 on your zx1500.1 will go good and loud and yield good sq as well Myself with the space you have and 1500rms@2ohm idd go For sq 1x FiQ18 Or 1x fiq15 (if you want to save a ton of space) Sql 1x Fi bl 15 or 18 2x orb 15 2sa15 or 12's Even 4xsa8
  11. If you have the space and don't want to upgrad amp or get another 1500 The FiQ18 is a very good choise If u can get another zx1500.1 then 2 FiQ15 would be my choise, I was very surprised in the sq they produced for the price How many cuft you got to work with? And do you plane on getting a bigger or second amp?
  12. always give building the box a go, cost you $30-50 to build if you already have some tools, secondly i love my single ported 15 rear firing in trunk, plays everything and all types of music, there are also alot of low power 15's so and elec. upgrade isn't needed.
  13. You could do 4x sa8v2, w7 8" or L7 8" the list goes on, ported in that space easily. And they'll all take 2k+ not a problem That's my 2c
  14. if you want some help you need to put down some measurements and what you want it tuned to,
  15. also another thing to consider is adding another sub, it will make building the box a lot easier, if you want port/sub to face same direction, it's hard to get a good high to width ratio, your amp will handle it and not need upgrading and 600-700 a piece @ 1ohm (depending on what your current ohm sub is) even at @ ohm they will still hit hard
  16. Is this box in the trunk of car And you say Aq1200, is that current mdl amp and what ohm sub did you get
  17. Yes idd do a bigger box but not bigger in net cuft Idd stick with 0.6cuft net 8.5-9sq" of port 32-33flat hz and if you have some good mids 30-32hz Try not to tune over 33 flat unless you no the peek of you car or you just want load, theis still play load low at 33 and some people will even tell you to go down to 30hz But I've found 32-33flat is best for all round performance,
  18. If you can open it up fit 45 in the cnr and seal it up again and try that. Also with the last bend you want that straight to the side and not to the front, so as the sub doesn't unload straight into the port Also Didn't see the port size propley as I'm mobile but 10.5x 1.25 in 0.64net is smack on where you want be, with the exception of a but a bit lower tune would be nicer
  19. You shouldnt be getting port noise from a 10.5x1.5 port I've built plenty of these and quite a few people on here have a few of my sa8 boxes and I alway build 0.6cuft net 8.5-9sq" of port at 32-33flat hz
  20. your speakers are 2ohm as i posted before and both are very modest pricing 180x2 @2 http://www.sonicelec...io-JX360-2.html 150x2 @2 http://www.sonicelec...e-PBR300X2.html
  21. not 100% but i think its a 4.7Mf cap in line you need, but someone with more experience with that brand may be able to help better
  22. you are talking about a kia mentor the only way is an L-shaped wall behind front seats and into trunk, either way not an easy first build, and very hard box to construct, your going to need somewhere around 18cuft gross 3k or 22gross on 2500 of course if you want to add more power you can go smaller, but expect to drop some serious coin on the elect. system to support it,
  23. every family has a retard in it, if you think your family doesn't then it's probably you
