ryansmth777 Posted March 29, 2011 Report Share Posted March 29, 2011 The really sad thing about it is all the people that don't have the time or the mechanical ability to do it themselves and have to turn to these types of shops to get they're equipment, in some places there may be only 1 or 2 shops, maybe not any at all so people have few choices . He never heard them either. Just shooting off about what he sold. I've seen other shops that talk smack about shops down the street too. They'll tell you **** shop will rip you off, **** shop will steal ya shit after you paid for it (there maybe some truth to that...long story). It's just horrible. Yea I heard of a shop installing alarms and stereos in people's cars, and then they get your address on the invoice then come to your house, disarm the alarm and steal all the equipment they sold to you. Pretty shady shit if you ask me. This would be me, full time college student, work, and take care of my two boys, i dont have the time to sit out in the garage and fabricate for hours, i can install most shit myself, but if i could find someone who gets paid to do it for a living and can do it right i dont have an issue paying for it. and for me theres 2 shops in town, they bash each other and they both fix each others mistakes (ground wires screwed into the deck lid), next closest place is toledo(45min away). I have heard stories of shops telling youngsters looking for AA and the SMD sub in particular, that its chinese garbage and not as good as "brand x" whatever they carry. i mean, if you dont know what the fuck you are talking about, why even comment? There is TONS of equipment brands i have no experience with and when people ask me if its any good my answer is always "i dont know, never ran it". Shops are a dying breed and its their own fault. sorry to my shop owner friends who are not like these asswipes. I know they dont speak for you, all but they themselves wont be in business long. Too bad salesman are not installers, fuck most of our salesman can't even set the time on decks they have sold 100's of. I love its when they have to ask what coils work together for a particular amp.... lower tuning is just hard.
