SecondSkinzz
I have a question or three. Does DC under-rate their subs? Does DC make subs that can be beat on by a Sundown 3000D, or even a 4500D all day long? The reason I ask is I have a project in mind, but here in AZ many of the competitors and customers out here are running big amps for big Db. I'm looking for something that can hang with at least 3kw consistantly and will last.

ChevyBoy95
Depends on application, but yes, the XL and Lvl 5 are quite underrated. corey0928
I wouldn't say throw an XL on 3k. Only if its clean power. And we don't know his experience level
AI James
such a noob thread in all honesty. buy power for what the manu tells you it will take and go from there. If you have to ask STAY WITH RMS RATINGS
fritosaregood
such a noob thread in all honesty. buy power for what the manu tells you it will take and go from there. If you have to ask STAY WITH RMS RATINGS this^^^ and also, why not use the search button, these "dc power handling" threads get made way too much. CJ18
Agreed that if you have to ask how much they will handle then you need to stick with rated RMS power. Most all companies (DC, AA, T3) for example, top end subs will handle more power than they are rated for. BUT, all conditions must be right for them to do so. Voltage must be good, power must be CLEAN(no clipping....for you noobs the gain IS NOT a power knob!!!!), and your box must be built to the correct specs. StreetSlappah
Are you looking for a single setup? And yes they are underrated. Plus after rise and voltage drop you wont see the 3k or 4.5k out of the sundowns... Quote Refs-(b.f.) 99vic, WCA Rusty(x3) Nathan@XSPOWER, Ampjunkielikeme, Bread0710, AmiCreations (s.t.)
