kingsuv Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 OK, so here it goes. We got it together and playing few nights back. Car really peaked hard at 60hz Couldn't get it to play lower to save my life. The roll off on the box was nasty. It had me second guessing every part of the build. Bounced some ideas off Ray and came up with trying a 4th order. Here's a few pics of how it went. first, everything had to come out. Will gettin busy screwing the new baffle in. Pic of the sealed side. All screwed in. Filled in. The pic you all got to see thanks to Ray And then the 3 - 6' ports. Did some testing with the bandpass and we were still getting a high tuned peak. Bout the lowest we could get it was 57hz. Even with one of the ports plugged, I still had a peak of 57. We went through the whole car and re-scoped everything. now normally when I set an amp, I will turn the SSF all the way down, and the LPF up about 1/2 way. Both these settings I typically let the deck or in this case EQ handle. Today when I re scoped the amps, I turned the LPF all the way down and the bass came right up. decided to sweep the system and got a peak of 38hz. bingo. in the money. wasn't seeing the peak number scores close to a starting point so we gutted the whole thing again, and went back to the slot port we started with. Banged. a 49.9 out of the gate at 52 hz. Now that is a peak we can work with. it also can play the lows like it should. Been tweaking on her all night with good results. Trimmed out the back. Few little loose ends to finish up tomorrow before Mario gets her back Designing, building, and shipping boxes. Yahoo IM - kingsuv00If the listening level is too loud, please inform the driver, so he can promptly pull over, and let you out. not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.

Ray Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 Was a small 4th. Not too bad though. I think it would have worked better firing up, but time and the amount of work to do it killed the idea. 50.x is pretty good for no tweeks. Congrats mario and billiam. Cant wait to see what it cracks off after tweeking it. 2008 California state record holder 157.2 Bassrace2009 California state record holder 157.0 BassraceRollin 50's 158.7db2009 King of Cali Bassrace2009 USACi score 160.5 @ 42hz
