ALPINE408 Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 bracing matters a ton i did a wall with no bracing just to get an idea where i would be at with 2 18s my first wall started with 149.4 i was pissed... so i started bracing the shit out of it braced the port... the box ....did a better job sealing off the back bam 154.3 so by what hes saying those numbers sound right Have you ever had your woofers blown?

Rip out the dowels and go all steel. I agree Alpine, biggest issue I have is bracing. Didn't really notice how much the box was flexing until I got to the show and went full volume. A lot of vets told me to have the gain turned up more than 1/2 - 3/4 to find true peak since it changes so easily when more power is given. Cuz I kept peaking at 30 Hz but I was playing the sweep alittle more than a quarter.
