I have OFC 1/0 welding cable right now. I'm considering going to Knu CCA.

What is on my mind:

Knu is oversized and is pretty close to 3/0 (.45" conductor diameter vs. my current .33: conductor diameter)

CCA is less conductive than OFC

CCA has more corrosion issues (galvanic corrosion I think)

The OFC I have right now doesn't bend in anything smaller than a 10 inch circle on a good day

I can't decide. So you guys do it for me :)

The Knu CCA isn't very flexible either, and since it is over sized you have to trim it down to get it into most of your common size 0 gauge terminals. That's just my experience with it.

OFC over CCA all day. Most of my answers are above in red, but you need to check what strand count the welding is, you can get different strand types, my welding cable from trystar is pretty flexible for only being like 1800 strands and being 1/0. I also have some trystar 3/0.

all of knu is extremely flexible.

I'll put it this way... The CCA would have to be about the size of 3/0 (~85mm²) in order to be as conductive as 1/0 (~55mm²) OFC wire. Just saying.

CCA (in a typical 85%Al/15%Cu ratio) is usually about 2/3 the conductivity of pure copper when comparing equal sizes.

I think it really depends on the amount of power you have. Correct me if I'm wrong but CCF is rated up to 250amp and OFC is about 300. So if you dont plan on running over 250 amps stick to CCF cause its cheaper.Like for me I didn't know this when I ordered my wire so I had to make multiple runs just to make sure I was getting everything out of my 270amp alternators.Next time it will be OFC all the way though
