SnowDrifter
Ok, so I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a Fi SP4. But I have something on my mind... The specs on Fi's site say this: DUAL 1 | DUAL 2 0.65 Ohms/coil | 1.27 Ohms/coil I want to have it wired to .5 ohms (crescendo 3500) but I have a concern: If I get the dual 1 I am worried about the amp seeing 1/3 ohm instead of a half ohm because of the .65 ohms/coil as per the specs, or would I be OK because it's a dual 1 ohm coil? t-money
i would think after impedence rise you should be fine but thats just my 2 cents Quote 2002 ford focus hatch pioneer DEH-P8400bh infinity kappa 6.5 components front and rear XS Power D1200 Shuriken BT-100 audioque 120.4 2 15 inch audioque HDC3 D2 2 audioque 2200d big 3 mechman 220a alt with external regulator 479-418-3056
baaudio
go dual 2 then and amp will see .5-.7 wired in parallel. that'd be a safer bet anyways man Quote Team NWSPL baaudio Build Log 2001 GMC Sierra walkthrough 4 Mechman Elite 370s, 10 AGM batteries, 3 Crossfire XS v2 18s, Crossfire 8k
Joe X
Re is the DC resistance of the sub not the impedance, any sub measured with a multimeter will show a lower value than the impedance rating.

OP - why did you bump the thread? Joe X provided you with the correct answer. The sub is dual 1 ohm. SnowDrifter
I get the nominal resistance will always be lower than rated. I am just nervous about having 1/3 ohm nominal. dolarbilz
If nervous get dual 2. Play it safely.instead of worrying about what if's
jrchevy87
I would be too. With the dual 2 ohm parallel u will see .6 to .7 ohms which is close enough imo Edited April 11, 2012 by jrchevy87 Quote Jeep Wrangler TJ Hardtop Build
MrSkippyJ
If you want .5 ohms get the d1 option. That simple.
