if you get a s/c installed by the dealer you keep the warranty but once you change a pulley or something on it and blow a piston you are not under warranty

If you super charge it and something breaks inside the motor, transmission, drive shaft or rear end I can guarntee you, you wont get it fixed under warranty. Now a Roush installed by a Roush dealer "May " be a different story.
The rest of your warranty wont be affected.
With the stock crank and esp rods and pistons being less than adequate for a blower, my opinion is you better have the bucks to fix it "when" it lets go, and eventually it will.

Every dealer is different. My Ford dealer will install a s/c and as long as the car is not abused, they will back the drivetrain warranty. If you change pullies or rev it to 7000 RPM, and put a rod through the block, they will not.

This dealer has done a bunch of Vortechs, Prochagers and is doing a KB in my 06. The service manager there is great to work with. They are also doing my gears and exhaust.
They will even honor extended warranty!

As for the warranty, it's not the factory one. I've got an email from Roush on it somewhere (may have even pasted it into another thread somewhere on TMS, maybe try a search on "roush warranty"). I'll try and find it and put it in here. The warranty is also only 3yr/36K, much like the factory Ford warranty, so your extended warranty will not cover any parts which break due to the s/c, after the factory period (unless your dealership opts to do this as a favour for you, which is what they may be talking about).

Yes he is speaking abouit the Ford warranty not Roush's.
I have spoken to a few dealers that will honor the Ford warranty if they install the blower.
Mine is being done this week at a Ford dealer.
They will honor my Ford warranty, my extended warranty, and they will cover the supercharger in the extended warranty, should it puke a bearing or something.

the thing is, there is the loop hole here.. kb is states you dont lose your warranty and you dont.. everything else on your car is still under warranty just not the part that was upgraded or effected by it.. i just hope they fix your shit cause it sucks seeing stuff like this

Thats irrelevant. It was "properly" installed, and by an authorized shop.

it is relevant. if it was done by a Ford it would be much easier. Ford really doesnt know what the installer did and will blame it for the mechanical failure.. tuning/flashing the ecm voids warranty on the powertrain..

When it comes to mods on the mustang to be covered under warranty ford uses Ford Racing parts just like toyota has TRD, and it has to be installed by the ford dealer to be covered under warranty. It will be a losing battle real quick especially when they take a look under the hood and see parts not offered through ford racing and not installed by an actual Ford dealer. U can't go to a random shop have them add on parts give it a new tune and then think it's going to be covered under warranty... Soon as they see it's been tuned it's game over lol Sometimes IF u get lucky and have some cool fellas you are dealing they may... turn a cheek but that's pretty rare especially if it's going to be something expensive to fix. Ford got really crazy when the new 5.0 came out and issued a new TSB specifically saying if the owner mods the car warranty is void

Yep, The will very easily track down the problem and what caused it ( they are after all certified Ford mechanics) then they will be able to actually prove it and that's all she wrote lol

Maybe message soljjiraggs on here he may be able to give you some in site to the Ford warrantee considering he works there. Seems like everyone else is just speculating....

From what I asked when I was looking into my motor is the warrantee is non existent if a Ford racing motor is bought thru ford.... If u were to buy the motor thru jegs let's say. Then you will have to pay for the initial cost to take the whole car to the dealer let the dealer tear it down and determine the problem if it is indeed the motor if it is jegs will cover the entire bill.... only if it is indeed determined that

the "Crate motor" had a malfunction etc
