Socky Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 I can almost guarantee that there is not 7000w clamped power going to those subs. If there were then they would blow themselves out of the box. I would be shocked if there is more than 4-5000w clamped power at the very most. way to be a debie downer. lol. Have you tried what ray suggested? Stuff the seal section with polyfill? Also try more of a round port, see if you can do a interchangeable round ports with aeros, 4th orders require alot of testing and tuning, maybe tune a little higher for the spl port. Are you competing in iasca? If so i remember talking to the judges they have a rule is as long as you are under 25in you are golden, i ask them about the window line, and they said its just 25in. Chris Davis Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Sometimes I said I might not like the setup in one of mine just to give me an excuse to get my hands dirty for a new build. Its like a drug not just the odyssey for harder and louder hits but the journey of the blood sweat and tears that gets you there. I am for sure tuned into this keep up the hard work numbers will come.

Not being a downer, just being realistic. Not sure what her final ohm load is at the amp, but with 4th order comes a decent amount of rise.

quakecitystudio Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 She's using a Sundown NS-1. She may not be putting 7000 to the subs. Here's a user's clamp test of the amp - http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/general-car-audio-discussion-questions/116797-sundown-ns1-clamp-test-results.html - His results: starting voltage 14.8v voltage drop 12.7v wired to .5ohm rising to 1.39ohm @ 45hz rail voltage 97.3vac amperage 70amp total output = 6811w And he did "highest spl of the day was 156.1 sealed at 45hz with the 8 sa15 powered by the 1 NS1" side note to show 8s handling 7k total power 7000watts on 8 Sundown 8s http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=50WaWardmJw Bass Music Producer • Photographer • Graphic Designer -------------- Deep Sector Boom...

So when I clamped a pair of dc 3.5ks starting at .5 ohms strapped and rising to 8 ohms in a 4th I was mis reading the meters? Show me your proof to prove me otherwise. I know that all boxes are going to act differently, but when I was talking with mike singer before I designed my 4th, he told me to expect 2-4x rise so I would be good wiring low. I will take his word over yours.
