So funny to hear complaints of having to travel...... That's why I never go on these forums. True competitors "Travel". This thing would be a different experience for me, cuz it's right here. Usually the closest show to me is about 3 hours away, most are twice that far, and at 6 mpg? I'm going to the Lincoln City Oregon show, supposed to be a big one. Probably 8-9 hours one way. "Fair" is not being centrally located, it's offering shows everywhere, so all have a chance at making the shows. The most serious competitors hit them all, no matter where, but since Wayne is making false statements and changing his mind, I don't care about chasing points anymore. Lake County show is gonna be off the hook, you couldn't keep me from that one. People on another thread were crying like their diaper was full over a $150.00 entry fee for the Finale!!! Have they never been to Finals? Where does the money go, they ask. Are you F-ing kidding me??? Any idea how much it cost to buy an 8 foot trophy, let alone all the 7 footers, 6 footers, etc, etc,? Throw in Wayne's 3X sanctioning fee, then you have FREE FOOD AND DRINK for about 200 people. A cash grab wind tunnel full of cash. This is coming out of Jim's pocket! Pay attention people, this is why our sport is dying..... Most guys just don't get it. Kimo is pulling a lot of stuff together here to make a big successful show, you would think people would be more supportive. Not everybody is going to live close to a show "every time" it's just the way it goes. Sorry for the rant Kimo, it's just that this is why I stay away from forums.

Sadly, the list or real competitors who think like this are far and few these days. Doesn't seam to be a shortage of people who want to claim to be serious, then bitch every time a show is more then 20 min from home.

I'll be there for support with a friend from Virginia. I dont live in Cali so i cant compete but I will have a tl for any trunks who think they got what it takes to beat my retired trunk. lol

True competitor's compete.I've made four show's this year and will most likely take state final's.Now,if I had support,I would probably take world final's,but I don't.So,I do what I can ,with what I have,and will not take from my family's mouth.It's not like back in the day,where a shop,team,or other's would sponser you,and you can make all the show's.Time's have changed,and unfortunally we do as well.

Didn't see any crying about the fee, just asking why it is what it is. And no, i've never been to a finals, so how about you tell me about it instead of this "are you kidding me?" statement. I might go to the Lake County show, who knows, but I have a right to know why its so high. I don't get why some of you veteran guys come with dickhead responses when those of us new to competing have questions about what is really going on. I'm not broke, i'm not struggling, but I do track my expenses very closely.

That being said, I hope the things align so I can check out this show in October.

The reason the "og"s complain is there was a time when a 5hr drive was a "close and local" show...they most likely spent years on this grind, driving alot more then we have to, and not having the luxury of numerous cost efficient 1x events like we have. Gary and Timmy, Bassick and some of the others have likely driven more in 1 season then alot of us will in our careers. We are lucky that there are multiple orgs in this state, let alone the fact that we get a few 1x a year for those of us on a budget....however, rather then compare each others travel intenarys, or banter back and forth amongst each other about fairness, we should put our efforts toward establishing Cali as a powerhouse. Tenn, Flor, Ohio etc are seen as relevant competitor bases in the spl realm. California has yet to establish our base, short of a handful of people that have made national noise. A show 3 cities away isnt your enemy.....that assshole in Tennesse with 17 shows a month sandbagging is your enemy...Lets focus on these big 3x events in a united manner so that we CAN make some national noise! We are in this together, how Bassick goes, so does Cali, how Audio Innovations goes, so does Cali, how Flex Issues and the rest of us go, so does Cali.......lets all support the CA comp base as best we can

I have no problem with driving hours away to compete. I actually enjoy it. I always end up getting hotels in what ever city it is in and make a weekend out of it. I"m sitting this season out and if all goes as planned i will most likely come out strong next season.
