So ill admit that I suck at finding stuff... and it is likely right under my nose, but anything happened with your front end work that included the other cav? is that what the welder is for?

That is what the welder is for..............but ill no longer be using the other Cav...........called the crusher to come and get it thursday............so i cleaned up the yard.........i had 4 front fenders.......7 doughnuts.......4 bucket seats.......a cowell a header panel........and a hood crammed in that car when they came and got it.........they gave me 100 bux for it........

so they paid me 100 to clean my yard...........and Darren is buying the Sunfire so thatll be gone soon as well....

gotta get some of this shit out of here.........looks like a poman car lot rounheeaa

I'm lovin the how ur workin the headlights and I'm curious to see if some nice projectors/HIDs get recessed up in there or just do away with em and make it like bat mobile "stealth" and put in some night vision goggles for the driver or what...Im sure you'll make us proud.

Glad to see you had time to throw food at birdies w/ Memphis & the wifey too. I remember doin that w/ my grampa and that was good times.

So are you still planning on doing the 1-piece hinging front end thing even though you don't have the other cav to test it on?

again.......thank you so,so, much.........i just wish those who i live would see things the way you and i do..........instead of telling me over and over how i need to grow up and quit wasting my time on this stupid car......

many days..........many many days..........i wish i did NOT have the talent i do........and the Drive........to work so hard .....it would make life alot more easy......around the house.....

You are grown up. And as I see it , you seem to be contributing to the expenses around the house with your day job. Stupid cars are what makes guys like us be the people we are. It is a tragic male gene where we see thru the rust, the flat tires and the weeds covering a car in a field , and all we see is shiny red paint and mag wheels with fresh upholstery , and a big shiny motor under the hood. The classic male desire to get our hands dirty, to "create" things, to restore, to escape the world that closes in on us each day by hiding in the workshop with a tool box and a car. I haven't really posted up my work from way back, But I have restored a 1970 VW bug, took best of show twice, sold a 1973 mustang mach 1 that I spent several years working thru with the old man, and I even put a shit load of time in a suzuki samurai ( even swapping the tub out ) just cause I always wanted one. sold it for pennies on the dollar of course. One of these days I will scan all those pics in the computer and post them up, but it just isn't that important I guess.

This stuff you do is who you are. My crazy ass girlfriend is getting a masters degree in fashion design. Yes... Making Clothes. But, she is fuckin awesome at what she does , and she is willing to take a chance in a industry that is VERY hard to survive in. She wants it that bad. I can't help but encourage her enthusiasm , even when she is pissed off with the sewing machine, or the group project. It is unfortunate that your family and whoever doesn't see what you do as your way to open and explore your mind and show the world your talents, even if it is work done to a cavalier and the only place to show it off is a silly forum on the internet. Your family is clearly not your target audience. Nothing wrong with that, but find your support and your encouragement here, and on the fiberglass forums. Some day, the right person is going to seek you out. You just have to keep doing what you are doing and your day in the sun will come.

If you look up to them, why not look them up. Have you tried to get ahold of them? Have you considered printing out some of your build log pics and putting together a nicely bound portfolio with some of your projects , with a "artist biography" , with a few pages of script explaining how you found your talent , and what you would like to do with it? Have you actually tried to call these guys and get them to talk to you... I know it seems kinda far fetched but damn it is worth a shot right? I mean don't print out the thread from the forum, but some high quality pics mounted onto some nice paper and matt , you know basically a magazine of sorts about YOU, done to showcase you. Of course, producing something like this takes a bit of time and a small chunk of change at a print shop or kinko's or whatever, so I wouldnt send it out to just anyone. Try to talk with one of these guys directly and just ask if they would be willing to look over your work, and get the address that will put the package directly into the hands of your intended receiver. This is probably the most direct way to get into the minds of the people with whom you wish to work along side of. Sure you can wait until the car is done and you start hitting the shows, but that is only a chance that either somebody with the connections see it, or a photo of your car winds up somewhere , but nobody will see the work involved and your level of skill, and will sort of prove that you just weren't in the market for any pre-made body kit. Your chances are good at shows, but doing a portfolio is the only absolute way to get your work into the hands of the right people. Hell, I am sure either Meade, Oki, SPL2k, the RF guy on here, or the Kicker guy on here can help you get into contact with the right people... Use every resource available to you. I seriously doubt any one of these guys would tell you that they couldn't make a call or two on your behalf....
