newls1 Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 To keep this short and sweet, I will be going active using 5 sets of comps. So thats 10 tweets, 10 mid basses. I've never setup an "Active" stage before and am looking for some wiring advice. Please DO NOT RESPOND if you have never setup an active stage please. I will have 3 4ch amps to wire this all up too. Basically where im confused is do I wire every single speaker to its "OWN" channel, or can I wire 2 tweets together (2ohm load) to have more channels available to me. Just need the masters here like Bill, Ray, etc...... to lend a helping hand please. If Everything has to be on its own channel thats fine, i like the sound quality from 4ohm better anyways! I love my staffie So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny
White Lightning Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 Why so many component sets ?? Best practice to set up stage and image is to do more with less ... MrSkippyJ Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 Do you have to use all 3 amps or do you just have 3 you can use? F150: Stock 2019 Harley Road Glide: Amp: TM400Xad - 4 channel 400 watt Processor: DSR1 Fairing (Front) 6.5s -MMats PA601cx Lid (Rear) 6x9s - TMS69

newls1 Posted October 25, 2012 Author Report Posted October 25, 2012 4 sets are for the front, 1 set are for the rear.... Front stage includes the following: A Pillars, kick panels, then 2 sets per door. Rear fill includes just 1 set per door I love my staffie So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny
roscoe1129 Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 You dont have to run them all on separate channels nate... as long as your amplifier can handle the resistance and your speakers can handle the power its up to you. but my .02 is that the lower you can keep the impedance the more efficient your are going to be! couldve just text someone..... shogen Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 too much for front stage ..... I mean loud probably... sounding nice... probably not so much.... Install is more important.... Do you already have all these components sets? Your plan is to just remove the passive crossover from the equation? You must be trying to set up a system to match or get close to a big bass system ... correct ??? Just to be loud and soound good, I would suggset staying passive for starters, test and tune, then go active from there ... If you plan to go Audiophile ... well, the fun begins ... Robert8252 Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 Not knowing the speakers or amps. I would run each midbass on their own channel for power. And the only run 4 sets of tweeters on that last set of channels series paralleled to whatever ohm load works. Won't be able to do TA but will let you get the most. This is assuming the amps don't double power with two sets of mids on a channel 2013 F150 Crew Cab Old Build Log Feedback 2013 F150 Equipment - Some Awesome Stereo Sound Making Stuff
