SnowDrifter Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 I've always used OFC for everything. But lately, CCA has been catching my eye as it is half the price. I would be changing the wires that go to my amps since I am looking for something a bit more flexible than what I have now. So do you think there will be any difference between OFC and CCA over 2-3 feet? zydrix Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 i like CCA an will run it. as every1 knows OFC is better, but i dont think there is a HUGE difference between the performance of them. thats just my 2 cents an i could be completely wrong. but i rather like CCA wire. My build 98 s10 2.2 3 american bass HD 15s with psi soft parts. (on there way here) atomic at-3000.1 (soon) 146.2 outlaw @39hz., bad alt an bad batt when termed (old 2 12" build) alpine 6.5s in doors infinty 4x6s in dash. clarion cz201 HU. mechman 240a H/O alt stuff i still need. SHCA 2/0 wire SHCA 1/0 to 2/0 adapters Atomic AT-3000.1 Lots of sound deadner new mids an highs, still debating on what to do. A few Deka g31 batts.
TRTC360 Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 I have yet to see a difference in any setup when switching from OFC to CCA, i'm running my 3.5k at 1 ohm on a single run of CCA 1/0, have ran it at .5 also and didn't have any issues. I don't think I'd notice a difference in daily.
