use a 1/0 gauge wire for a 4 gauge amp

put all the gains in the amp to the max (i thought it would give you more power lol)

and wire 2 4 ohm subs to one and power them to a 1,800 amp and bye bye subs lol rms 400

3 years ago, made a 1.5 cube ported box for a 15 with 15 inches of port lenth and like 1 inch opening. Boxes with noooo port area. Not measuring twice my trunk and having to kick in my box. Tweeters off of hu. Selling jl midbasses fo 40 bucks that retailed for 120. Peel and seal -.- 8g power on a amp that needed 4g. Bad grounds.

when I was wiring a head unit without a harness just to see/hear it work, I forgot to connect the ground, and I told my cousin to return it because it was not working, it was bought used

I built a small two channel amp and it had a problem (forgot what the issue was) and I hooked the meter up to the components and when I turned it on, I did not realize meter was on resistance instead of voltage, I burned the chip

(not audio related, but electronics related, thought it was the worst one though) working on a final project for school, I had just bought a LiPo 11.1 battery and it had this female T-connector that I needed to replace with female banana connectors, sooo, I did, to get the same length I cut both the wires at the same time LOL small little explosion, I opened it and soldered the broken trace

I was driving, and suddenly nothing more zzzzzzz injection pump failure.

and there was smoke coming out of my trunk. no fuses

I had 2 batteries in the trunk not fused.

Now there was a plus cable in short circuit.

Fortunately I was able to stop at the gas station, where they came wiht a big fire extinguisher

Hooked up my wiring harness wrong for my deck. It worked fine with my ipod but when I put on the radio, all my gauges would quit working and my warning lights would all light up one by one. I forget which wires I actually swapped, but I was pretty confused at the time...

Ran my power wire 4ga > Maxi fuse holder > two runs of 8ga > homemade distributor block > 4ga > amp.

That's the first one I can think of, besides blowing a bunch of accessory fuse by cutting my stock wiring harness off, every wire at once, without disconnecting the battery. Don't remember if car was running or not. There's more in my build log.

I did that at night too. There was a bright spark, and when I finally got the hu in it took me a week to find which fuses I blew. If only I had joined this forum before then...

Let a buddy go to the local stereo shop (unable to release the name)... Well they royally fucked up the wiring job almost fried the amp and headunit, AND caught his truck on fire. I wound up redoing the entire wiring job a few days later for him after his subs cut out and headunit literally shut off when we were going down the road.. They left open wires dangling, grounded to a bolt on the sliding part of his seat rail, twisted and taped the harness adapter where wires werent insulated and touching eachother.. Other than that, on one of my first installs I forgot to pull the inline fuse and let some sparks fly... Ooooppssssss!
