Swordlordboy1234 Posted October 28, 2014 Author Report Posted October 28, 2014 Again much appreciated everyone, Phil, I'll see you right after turkey drag. Hopefully I don't pop a woofer there (though I kinda intend to) but I'll have recones waiting at my house so I can recone them better now that I know more of what I'm doing. Josh, I'll see you at turkey drag bro And grant, much appreciated. Yeah I was looking at them funny like.... God damn, a non mega roll sub that is as tall as the diameter of the cone? Things must be getting serious. Too bad one of them has the slightest amount of coil rub. Ever so slight. Literally you can't hear unless its volume 10 or 56. But it's still coil rub and I'm still gonna fix it because OCD. also, b2 deadener is coming soon, all 4 doors are gonna get a very nice treatment and I'll be replacing the stuff on my trunk lid for display purposes. Beyond that I'd like to thank everyone again for following my build log. It will still have updates but I will just be fixing things at this point if anything happens. No new equipment (replacing old stuff as it breaks doesn't count), no rebuilds, no walls.... I might try getting more fine tuning in when I get a dd1+ But other then that the demoCCord is how she sits. Cosmetics on the car itself are coming, including the hood, and a sick plastidip job planned. Next month I'm gonna enter my system again in SOTM and hopefully I'll stand a chance this time now that it's done done. Swordlordboy1234 Posted October 28, 2014 Author Report Posted October 28, 2014 nice job.... (you have rub on those b2 subs? im a bit lost on this build, im sorry) It looks great dude.... a damn fine trunk build for sure. Now dont bug me....... Yes, The gaps on these subs are so retarded, its almost DDZ status. SO when my glue job failed on one of my surrounds i Epoxied it back on using 2400lb epoxy and the coil is now the slightest bit misaligned on the driver side sub. Cant hear it unless its a dead quiet night in my driveway and I've got the volume on the head unit below 15 and the LC1 turned all the way up. Other then that the only way to notice is how one sub gets a little hotter then the other one after beating on it. I will be pushing them to the limits at turkey drag longevity wise. See how long (if at all) it takes them to blow demoing full tilt. If not by the end of the show i will take them out of the box and purposely free air them on a full 4k on music for fun while taking a video. And a pair of recones will be sitting at home along with a crap ton of epoxy, some good shims, a grinder, some E6000, and a crap ton of clothes pins. Get to practice my Recone skills. Wicks Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 Now for some photo updates. Got her looking nice and pretty now Went junk yard diving for panels. Here is what i found. Then i re tapped off my back seat, and took off the plastic seat backing that I've always carpeted over before... Found a mint one at the junk yard Got the carpet kinda pre cut a little... and some more glue. Money shot of new panels and carpet :D :D haven't seen my car look this nice ever.... especially not with bass in it. And just because OEM... i even added the little push clips to help hold the carpet. Carpet job isn't PERFECT but i think its a huge improvement. Now i get to look back at this every day.. Makes me so happy to finally see my vision FRONT TO BACK come alive. and just for a reminder. So to review. At this point, I have a 148db ride in the mid 30hz range. I have a fully active time aligned front stage, with great imaging, tonality, and clarity with a good bit of volume... WHILE looking almost OEM. I have a almost OEM looking seal off with custom built subs and a sexy ass box. The trunk looks amazing, everything tucked away and i still have room for tools and can get my spare tire and jack if needed. I have enough deadener to keep everything quiet (going to replace with b2 deadener soon) and i have the electrical to keep it all above 13.1v no matter what i play. 24hz to any HZ you wanna talk about. I can play it. And i can play it for a LONG TIME. I just ride around full tilt now everywhere i go and i don't even look at the voltage or worry about my subs. The accord audio portion is coming to a close. There will still be updates on it.. But she is finally done. AFTER 2 LONG YEARS. DONE. Its almost surreal for me. Fully up to date mechanically, loud, clean, great sounding daily driver that can seat 4 people. <3 YES!!!!!!! DAMMNNNN, that's clean! Love those B2's! Voted for ya. Trunk guys gotta stick together... Really dig how its all coming together. A loud functional trunk. Same thing I'm going for.....if I ever finish mine the way I want it. BTW...ever meter your subs with the rear seat in different locations? Try it with the seat up at 45 degrees. Since mines on an actuator, I've tried a few different angles. I gain a few tenths with it up at 45 degree angle...as opposed to all the way down. Weird, I know, but it worked.
