89capricebass Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 To me if u but a working sub ad it comes with coil rub I'd be fucking pissed! U shouldn't have to pay any shipping! What was shipping? 30 dollars maybe more.... If the price u paid was ???+ that 30 and an extra week? Prolly could have gotten a better sub instead if paying for shipping 2x which should have never happened! It made me a little mad but I did buy it used. So I knew that it could possibly have a problem and shipping was really cheap, like $15 if I remember right. Honestly if I had had the money I would have bought a different brand, but I didn't have $300, I had $130 and am very happy with my new vvx-12. At the end of the day I got a brand new sub for under listed price. Edit: And Kevin handled it in a very timely and professional manner. WillPwn4Food Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 From what I've talked to Kevin about he's been very helpful and gives quick responses. Don't think he's taken more than 15 minutes to reply to an email I've sent during business hours. Will be ordering 4 vvx15s either tomorrow or Friday Wall build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/174827-walled-taurus-with-lambo-doors/#entry2571893 real men dont use fuses Neither do moronsSays the guy with lambo doors on his Ford Taurus.
HunterJohnson Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 Smd isn't about bashing. Kevin is a businessman, he provided me with good customer service and responds faster than any company via email or PM. I haven't had any bad woofer experiences, purchased 4 different woofers from him and also Shuriken batteries. I would recommend buying from Kevin but you have to know audio, my opinion is unlike ie sundown, Jacob is an engineer/speaker guy first, Kevin Is a business man first. I support this opinion even though I will be staying with skar until further notice. Hunter is 100% right in my opinion. Omega5002 Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 Though, I will say this, when one of IVX's came in and had coil rub, Kevin was nice enough to send me a replacement with no charge. Only thing I paid was shipping back. U still had to pay shipping back to him! Are u serious? I didn't pay him, I paid UPS to send the bad subwoofer back to him because since he sent my sub with UPS Ground, I then sent it back with UPS Ground, which got there in 1 day(I'm 2 hours away from him), I got it back Tuesday, and I only paid $20 to send it back to him. I didn't mind paying to send it back, better than running a bad woofer, and have it blown down the road. Replacement came in working completely fine, and no coil rub. If I wanted to pay less, I could have used USPS, but I know that would have taken longer, and I'm anxious to get my woofers in, and was pissed that one of them had coil rub, and I didn't want to buy a replacement. Paying $20 send in for a replacement is much better than paying to buy a new one. Kevin responded to my message very quickly, and told me he would gladly send me a replacement, which he did. He honored the warranty even though I didn't buy the woofers from him, I won them. 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)
bighossf150 Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 What he means is skar should have emailed you a shipping label and scheduled a ups pickup instead of you paying to ship it since it wasn't your fault the sub was messed up. all4spl Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 What people forget is that everyone is HUMAN and mistakes are going to happen, its how those mistakes are handled that makes the difference. As for the past, its just that the PAST, some people take their butthurt to the top level just to make themselves feel better when bashing a company/person on a forum. And those type of people IMO I wouldn't want as customers if I ran a company. NO ONE can please EVERYONE, that's why there are so many companies that offer products and services we buy. I do installs on the side and I am 100% honest and upfront with the people who bring me their vehicles, even to the point of saying "I'm sorry but I cannot do that", because well I am human and I know my limits. And there is NOTHING wrong with admitting you are wrong or that you cannot do something rather than give someone a false impression and then only to have them disappointed or upset in the end. I have had the pleasure of knowing Kevin in person for a while and he is a stand up guy, and while he may not have all the answers to every question that comes his way he does and will try to take care of every customer as best as he can. I didn't asked for one, that's my fault. I'm not complaining though, I'm happy now that both my woofers are in perfect shape just awaiting a box to put in, in which I need to build. 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)
