mtxplod
I just recently started a build and to my dismay i have some noise. I have recently ran a new wire from the ignition to my head unit and routed the ground to one of my batteries. I still have issues. turn on/off thump alternator whine and when the car is off i have some static. also i can hear my door chime faintly and when i throw on my turn signal heat or headlights more noise is introduced. I am using... pioneer Avic x910bt (used in previous build and did not have to ground RCA outputs) Soundstream RUB 5.400 (also used in last build) Hifonics BRZ 2100.1(and also used in last build , upgrading soon lol) 3 shuriken bt120's ect. ect. I have check every terminal and ground, everything is tight Thanks for your help!

mtxplod
I can have pics of grounds later. but there is two grounds where the rear seat belts used to be they are grade 8 torx screws. i took an angle grinder to it and tightened the living crap out of it with a breaker bar. the RCAs are at least a foot apart at the shortest length. I tried running another set of RCAs above the carpet and over my passenger seat and it helped none. ect. would be 2 + runs of zero (only using one at the moment) and dual input terminals. Also i think this is an important factor that i forgot to include, the noise is only present when the RCAs are connected to the head unit and the amplifiers. n8ball2013
either your pioneer head unit strikes again or you grounded to a non optimal ground by grounding to the seat belt bolts. Skullz
I used to use radio shack cheapo rca patch cords with no problem for years but they have gone to a higher grade that imo suck compared to the older ones they sold. I now prefer ones with the turbine ground than the cheaper tabbed ones than can easily bend and not hold as well, but with the turbine ones they can have a tendency to grip it too well and pull the plug out. If you have rear struts i would sand around one of the nuts and ground on that instead of the seat belt bolt. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
