HatersGonnaHate Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 Birch is lighter and easier to cut. Price is about $10 more than mdf, but when you have rear end sagging problems, the light weight of the wood is a big benefit. HatersGonnaHate Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 Lol I still use mdf though. It's what I started with when I started making boxes, so I know how to cut it and it's easier to hand sand smooth edges and round overs. I don't mind using it at all, but when it comes to lugging around full sheets, I'll save my back and opt for birch when my wallet, or the customers wallet, permits.
