If your meter is reading 1.3 and you have .1 resistance in the leads, how do you figure that you have dual 2s?

I know I have heard of Fi coils reading lower, ie D2 reading 1.4, but that makes no sense to me. If the coil reads 1.4, then it is 1.4.

The 1.4 you're reading with your DMM is the direct coil resistance. Impedance is not the same as DC resistance.

I did, haha. Don't think he's seen it.

Its cool. Im letting EVERYONE know... im not fucking stupid

I am open to enlightenment as to why an fi dual 2 coil will read 1.4(or in this case 1.2) and other dual coils I have used will read 2.0. What is the difference?

Brian hope u don't mind but here

You are reading DC resistance with a meter, not AC impedance. When you put a meter on a coil, you are just getting the resistance of the wire. As AC is applied, the coil acts like an inductor and changes the impedance with different frequencies. The impedance rating of the sub is an average over its operating frequency range, including a very large spike at the driver's Fs.

Hey dude, I'll just throw my $.02 in. When Ric006 came over to get his system DD1'd, he was under the impression he had Dual 2 ohm subs and I let him know that for a final 1 ohm load, that would be impossible. I told him he must have Dual 1s and he ended up texting CJ while he was at my house to learn he INDEED had Dual 1s. Anyway, needless to say, he took his DMM and checked for himself. His DMM had resistance in the leads too and they were still reading a little off from what they should have been. Once he took the reading at the of the pos and neg at the amp he was dead nuts on 1 ohm.

You may try getting 2 wired together how they should be and check the impedance of those wires. Just a suggestion partner. Oh by the way, the subs look like fucking SEXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. Keep it up dude.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

didnt see if anybody mentioned it but you should put some rubber coating on that new groundings..

You talking about the rear frame grounds? I after all the cables are in, i was just gonna spray some rustoleum on the area? am i wrong?

Im not sure what rustoleum is but Ive seen and used my self plasti dip to cover it..

I used white lithium grease. Works fine unless you pressure wash it.
