I'm partial to Kicker so it's sweet to see a beefy Kicker build, especially since their subs have kinda gone downhill. The doors are absolutely wicked, very impressed by them. If so good luck welding metal right next to wood, unless your pulling it out welding and then putting it back in. Not saying it can't be done...just keep some water near by FYI subs look sick as hell! Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. The people who criticize or try and one up you....have a p.o.s to no system at all and will tell you all about this "other" guys system! Saddley I'm sure if I meet this "other" guy...he will probably tell me he thinks your just as annoying as I think you are! I'm not compensating, just proud of fabricating! Purplehaze Posted August 6, 2013 Author Report Posted August 6, 2013 Finished up another sub, check it out! A while back, I got these two Audiopipe TXX 12's, both were blown. (These are AP's top of the line woofers)So you guys already seen what I did with the first motor, (8" Beast sub) so now I decided to build the second one. This one I couldn't decide what to do with; keep it a 12", or upsize to a 15". I decided to stay at 12", and use the original frame. It's a chrome 5 spoke frame, kinda odd, but I think it looks pretty cool, and different for sure. Only problem was the terminals, but I figured that out. I'll let the pics tell the rest of the story...Yes the screws are glued, I put it on the threads. Direct leads was the only option. Reinforced triple joint (metal-less nylon hair bands work GREAT for this)FinishedI'm not sure yet if I will sell this one, or keep it for my 15 yr old son Shane. It was a fun sub to build, and I expect it to be much better than it was originally.Up next is the one you all want to see, and the one I want to do: the Solo X 15. I should get it together today, but I will not rush myself. Pics for sure once it's done! And thanks for looking! Also, if you have a sub that needs fixed, pm me for details. My only hold-up now is the dust cap, I'm trying to find someone who can print me a Solo X logo in vinyl, just like the one on the front of the original. So far, I'm having no luck.
