SnowDrifter
Besides the cosmetic appeal of having some braided sleeving on the wire(like techflex), does it serve any purpose? ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
98GCLimited
Can help protect the wire a little bit but nothing major really. I did it mostly to make the wire under my Jeep more stealthy especially the red cable.
SnowDrifter
That looks nice What does it protect the wire from? Heat? revoracing247
could maybe protecting from dirt be a concern? or is that not a worry when running wire under the car? boostin302
im more thinking protection from rocks, sticks and asphalt tar. just general protection from the elements. wire coating can only protect the bare wire for so long. my main concern would be rocks kicking up and putting small cuts in it and chafing ( wire rubbing against the body/frame) My build log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/143943-2001-mustang-gt-system-rebuild-box-build-pics-updated-61512/ 2001 Ford Mustang GT 4.6 SOHC 380HP 270 amp Mechman alt 2 12" Treo SSX custom built. 6.47 cu ft, tuned to 32Hz 2 hifonics Brutus 2400.1, strapped 1 optima yellow top 1 Kinetic HC1800 14.4v @ 29Hz, 2k RPM over 100ft 1/0 XS flex wire Big 3 in 1/0 100sq ft fatmat deadener 145.3 on music, 142.6 sealed on music Stop being a pussy and wall it off. SnowDrifter
I'm running my wire inside the car.If the loom is something useful it will be easy for me to throw on while I'm running wire vs. pulling up the carpet again to add it. But if it isn't, I'll save 75 bucks and put that towards something else.
Tarball
if you use a metal braiding and ground it on oneside it will help to isolate the ef as well. n8ball2013
Its all looks. If you are worried about chafing you really should reconsider your wire path. When you have 12 runs of wire front ti back you cant hide it anyways so I see no need.
