Yeah, forgot to mention that whoever it was was smart enough to use a wiring harness when they installed the deck, but they still connected the red wire to the yellow and the yellow to the red....

My 2003 focus had to have those wires switched around like that. Maybe the person read that it needed to be done on his car to

On a Chevy truck? Nope, there were bare wires twisted and a cb radio and led lights were tapped into the power and ground on this thing, wires put in there that went to nothing, speaker wires cut for no reason, a rats mess. They didn't know what they were doing, and I don't know why you are so hellbent on sticking up for this person, or if you are just picking a fight with me for no reason...

Either way, you are wrong, I just posted up another mistake that I know has happened, so drop it

Wasn't trying to stick up for anyone. Was just saying that sometimes when the cars are going through the assembly line they mess up on simple things. It happens. All you said is the 2 wires were mixed around. I was just saying they could have read or thought they heard something about needing to do that bit didn't double check their facts. The only one bent outta shape here is you.

I'm learning a lot from this one. I have a couple questions though.

I saw one dude mentioned not fusing the lead to his volt meter. what size fuse does that need? its a cheaper auto meter that I have but I don't wanna mess anything up.

oh and a big mistake I made with my first install. bad ground. I thought the ground should have been awesome! I bolted it to an uncleaned seat mount on my back seat. the pioneer amp didn't work. so I went and down graded to a dual(more powerful but crappier brand) xpe amp. found out the ground was crappy then kicked my self in my own butt! lmno.

oh and trying to use a prefab box that came with the used subs I bought. I found out the box is tuned to 50hz! WHO THE HELL WANTS A BOX TUNED TO TO 50 HZ? my god! when it does hit its annoying as hell. makes My skin crawl so a new sealed box is much needed! :D

First, & BIGGEST mistake, ... Letting SOMEONE ELSE do the install (a new, local shop - 1992) ... the WHOLE system got stolen out of the vehicle in my driveway 6 weeks later ... with not even a scratch on the car ... & removed with the proper tools, & NOTHING "ripped" out ...I wonder if in the 7 days they had the car if they had time to make a door key ...

Hmmm, ...

PS: I learned REAL QUICK to do everything myself soon after ... & am glad I did.
