S15_Silvia
I was just wondering: would your product(s) work well to hush up resonance in a desktop computer? I figure they would, I just don't know if it's recommended or not. If yes however, I might look into it. Thank you! shogen
It would work but are your really experiencing resonance in the tower? Like panels are vibrating? are they touching metal to metal at the connection points? tried using gaskets/rubber seals on the edges? S15_Silvia
Not like that, just the fact that it's a large empty box with significant airflow through it causes some noise. I think for the small amount you'd need it might be worth at least trying, you know? S15_Silvia
See above post. I've been building PCs for years so no scrub mistakes were made, and I'm using Scythe S-FLEX and Noctua fans. It's in a Corsair 650D which is kinda big, and I was wondering if hitting the inside panels with some SS would make a change. Stuff like the hard drive isn't going to be made any more quiet. shogen
I don't get any real noise from my 800D case.... but I am using gaskets on every Noctua fan I use... I get some motor whine because some of the fans are horizontal and cause it but I hear air flow only..... and "sometimes' my GPU fan spins up with the typical high pitched noise .... I see no harm except temps "MAY" go up because it'll retain more heat inside the case. Only reason I've not tried it myself. CCF may be a good try first... See above post. Krakin
Hang on I had an old thread on this I'll find the link for you. Not exactly sure how much of an answer it got but whatever. Here: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164635-sound-deadened-case/ Edited July 6, 2013 by Krakin Quote Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. KMS
I would spray the inside of the side panels, and if possible the inside of the case with some kind of rubberized coating. Then use some quarter inch thick sound dampening foam in the inside of the panels. Skullz
Overkill pro would be the better option to use in that application over the deadener as it will remove any unwanted noises bouncing around off of hard surfaces inside the case.
