speaker box on backseat in ext cab?

Recommended Posts

I wouldn't rule out 8" as not doing want you want

4x 8" on 3.5-4k will be loud as

If you don't plane in running big power then cone will win hands down

And 2x 12" will only have 10% more cone area then 4x 8 so it's not that much more, and 12" subs to take 2k daily will be costly

So with that in mind power will determine which will work better

But the sa8 still get down,

I dont see it being anymore of a hazard than a standard box. I dont plan on just sitting it on the seat literally. I plan on making some handles so its actually strapped down and secure. I didnt factor in it being cushioned. Thanks for pointing that out.

unless it is bolted to the floor like everyone else with ext cabs does it, i wouldnt do it. I dont care how well it is "strapped" down.

It can be done, I wouldn't do it personally, as it is very unsafe. BUT! with some heavy ratcheting tie down straps, wrapped all the way around the box and through the folding part and underneath the seat, it should stay in place enough to keep you and your family safe. But it also depends on how heavy the loaded enclosure is also. Don't cheap out on the straps. Heavy duty.

Also if it was just sitting on your back seat, unless its bolted down nothing really would stop someone from stealing the box.. that's just worst case

down rpping vanderbilt. 30 miles from victoria. i own the 3rd loudest setup here out of 3. but i did put together all 3 setups

strapping 2 amps together ? like bolting them next together? using bungy cables to hold them down? or wiring separate amps to each sub

Mines strapped down to the seats. It doesn't move really. Amps and sub and box weigh ~200-250lbs. Empty box is 80-100lbs alone and is a bitch to get in and out cuz it has to be flipped and angled right. I want to bolt it down eventually but well see

Go for it man my two 12s i take in n out, not too big a deal.although it don't get put in the bed..either house or truck. I wouldn't consider it dangerous. Mine fits nice when the drivers seat is in position.

Subs up port passenger side sounds best in mine

My 2 and only 2 8s are very loud. If you heard it, it would change your mind faster than you can blink an eye.

SD, thank for the input. I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .
