john253a
I wouldn't rule out 8" as not doing want you want 4x 8" on 3.5-4k will be loud as If you don't plane in running big power then cone will win hands down And 2x 12" will only have 10% more cone area then 4x 8 so it's not that much more, and 12" subs to take 2k daily will be costly So with that in mind power will determine which will work better But the sa8 still get down,
ChevyBoy95
I dont see it being anymore of a hazard than a standard box. I dont plan on just sitting it on the seat literally. I plan on making some handles so its actually strapped down and secure. I didnt factor in it being cushioned. Thanks for pointing that out. unless it is bolted to the floor like everyone else with ext cabs does it, i wouldnt do it. I dont care how well it is "strapped" down. RidingTooLow
It can be done, I wouldn't do it personally, as it is very unsafe. BUT! with some heavy ratcheting tie down straps, wrapped all the way around the box and through the folding part and underneath the seat, it should stay in place enough to keep you and your family safe. But it also depends on how heavy the loaded enclosure is also. Don't cheap out on the straps. Heavy duty.
reg93f150
Also if it was just sitting on your back seat, unless its bolted down nothing really would stop someone from stealing the box.. that's just worst case ALL CREDIT TO XX1 FOR DC BANNER down rpping vanderbilt. 30 miles from victoria. i own the 3rd loudest setup here out of 3. but i did put together all 3 setups strapping 2 amps together ? like bolting them next together? using bungy cables to hold them down? or wiring separate amps to each sub
KiKaZz74
Mines strapped down to the seats. It doesn't move really. Amps and sub and box weigh ~200-250lbs. Empty box is 80-100lbs alone and is a bitch to get in and out cuz it has to be flipped and angled right. I want to bolt it down eventually but well see My SPL to SQ Build Log Vehicle:1997 Dodge Dakota Ext Cab 4x4 2009 Dodge Journey SXT5.2L V8 Magnum 3.5L V6 Stock AltEquipment: Headunit- Alpine CDE-147BT Mids/Highs Amp- JL Audio G6600 Class AB 6 Channel Sub Amp- Hifonics BRZ1700.1D @ 2 Ohms Taramps DSP3000.1D Sub- Hertz Hi Energy 12" HX300D SounDrive SDA3 12 Tweeters- Rockford Fosgate Power Series Silk Domes Hertz Hi-Energy Mids- Dayton Audio Reference 4" Full Range Drivers Midbass- Silver Flute 6.5" Hertz Hi-Energy 6.5" Processor- MiniDSP 2x4 RCA- 6 channels of SounDrive HF series Wire- EB Flex 2/0 -Member of Team SounDrive

john253a
I do mid 30 on 2x 8" with 400rms, haven't tested it on 2k as I don't have the elect to support it, And they get down to mid 20's with a 33hz tune no problem,
