Does keeping your backseats up defeat the purpose of a sealed trunk?

I'd like to flip my backseats up in my Accord when I have people in the back, I'm wondering if my subs are sealed off does it entirely ruin the whole purpose? I'll be adding my amp on the back of the seat as well, so when it's up I'm also worried about amp flex.

In my case yes. When my seats are up it is a 1/3 as loud as it is when they are folded down. I mean, I still play full tilt with them up to show people. Apparently it is a brutal back massage according to some people lol.

My seats are always down unless I am parked in a sketchy place or if I'm hauling people.

basically when you put your seat up you choke your subs and muffle them, in my experiences with my sealed off trunk when the seats were up the bass was seriously muffled but seat flex was intense. (it knocked the drink out the cupholder all over a girl.. not happy lol)

Cars can be brutal with the seats up... Dont let all these people scare you.. Honestly i like the sound of systems with the seats up better because then you dont have to hear any of the annoying rattling or buzzing or any other odd noises that may be happening in the trunk...

FYI I had a 96 Honda accord and I had fold down seats but I kept them up... Was still plenty enough to let you know it was back there and rattle your brains a bit

What you will want to be careful of is you dont want the amp in front of the subs with the subs playing. You will vibrate the hell out of the amp and probably damage it.

it probably won't be as loud, I find it that passengers like to sit back seat with a sealed firing forward box lol
