Power Wire Under Vehicle

Good thread, I am thinking about running under my car also. Just seems SO much easier than trying to tuck 1/0 wire.

I work on school buses during the day and when the manufacturer runs power wire to the rear for the lift they just loom it. Same thing for the power wires to the starter and grounds. 4/0 with loom and plastic holders. School buses are normally abused and driven on Ohio's salt covered roads. Worst I've seen is a bunch of dirt in the loom, nothing else. If anything I'd run in pvc for rigidity and loom else where with zip ties.

I did use rubber coated c clips with self taper screws drive into the frame.

The long straight run isn't where you need to trip out. It's the bends up to the positions front and rear.

Suspension parts, the hot motor. All that need to be taken in, and accounted for.

If you sre running wire where a thief can see it you should look at your install first. Mine is all tucked insude the inner frame rail you have to be on your back undernesth to see it

we have thieves that will drill out your gas tank and if they see a jucy copper wire well there under the vehicle its just bonus dollers

Mine is either split loom tubed in the bay or techflexed, and all parts passing through metal are grommeted or have rubber insulators on the edges/

I had my 1/0 tucked in the space along the passenger side edge where the factory wiring is ran. It was BARELY enough space though. This 2/0 won't fit.

Some people (not saying you) do it to be lazy, I am looking at it as my only feasible option.
