Good luck man, I can't imagine having to deal with a tragedy like that.

Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do that
I can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows

came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream.

oh lawd.

I got with fire chief an police an called insurence. They gave me policy number an told me i don't have rental insurance, so my best buddy let me borrow his truck sense he just had surgery.

I was told all lift kit an money put into truck is a lost. My gun can be covered though. I was told i can get bluebook. I hope an pray!

Still can't believe this happened! It went from smoke to full blaze in seconds

At least its a auto insurance issue and not a life insurance issue! Fire extinguisher is definitely a good addition to a vehicle pushing that much current with that much wire. In the future check with your insurance company. Many have comprehensive plans that would cover equipment in this situation as well as theft. Its usually doesn't add much to your premium. 20-30 a month.

At least you made it out ok. Especially as fast as vehicles can light up like you said "smoke to full blaze in seconds".

Here are a few links to companies that offer agreed value coverage for others to look into.

Adding the company I use. I am at $5k of coverage in the truck and $1500 in the Z for stereo coverage. I think they call it a communication waiver.

I used to keep a fire extinguisher in my old 79 C-10. I am gonna get one for my 96 now and probably the Z.

It was super fast. If you had baby's strapped in the back seat you'd have less then minute to get them out . When that dash fire hit ceiling it was all over.

There are couple vids popping up on Facebook from random people. I'll post a link in a bit

I had a car pop a radiator hose and heat wrap on the header catch fire. 3 kids in the back seat and the wife. got them all out and away from the car and was able to cut the heat wrap off and put the fire out. I was lucky that day. since then it has been running through my head like crazy. going to find a way to fit a small extinguisher for the car asap.

I was on my wat home from shopping on boxing day.. Seen a car rolling smoke from under dash, Turned around and went to try and help they guy. In the minute it took me to turn around it was to late. Just stood back with the guy and watched. Dude looked like he was about to start crying.

Almost had the same thing happen to my truck.

When it just had a static drop, it got bottomed out realllly hard once and a few zipties broke allowing the power runs to get under the exhaust and rub threw.

Brother was driving amd it started shorting out.. He had to get under the truck ( keep in mind.. Static drop amd frame not far off the ground) amd seperate wires. Also took hos shoe off and used it as a wattler scoop in the ditch for water.
