sbg
Just got a 01 focus from my father in law few weeks back. This morning I go out and start it up come back out 30 min or so later. To find all the oil is on the ground! FML. Not making crazy sounds at all or over heating when I turn it off. But it was lucky to have 1/2 a qt of oil in it. I hope it's nothing crazy. Was not coming form filter and seems to be off the pan. It was fucking crazy cold last night and in the morning when I started it. -12 out with out windshield when I started. 01 focus se 110 amp alt Big 3 sky high and stinger hpm ofc 1/0 Super start platinum AGM (starting) 2 runs of 1/0 Execution audio front to back Kenwood double DIN DDx271 A pillars- orion 4" super tweeter and 2-1" alpines. sbg
Did he have oil changed lately on it could be someone didn't tightened down oil filter have had this happen before from cheap oil change places. Just putting it out there He is a 30 year machanic, and shop owner of 28 of them years. He just overhauled the motor. It's not from the filter or drain plug. It's in the front if the pan. I'm no machanic at all so I don't know what's going on. I just hope the motor is not fucked now. It don't have no oil at all! But I think it's ok because it was not over heating or making sounds. 01 focus se 110 amp alt Big 3 sky high and stinger hpm ofc 1/0 Super start platinum AGM (starting) 2 runs of 1/0 Execution audio front to back Kenwood double DIN DDx271 A pillars- orion 4" super tweeter and 2-1" alpines. ParDeus
Yep, somebody used the wrong silicone on the front seal, my guess. Dow Corning Glass & Metal ftmfw.
Katt
What oil filter is on it? Valvoline had a recall on a batch of filters, Not sure if its shop filters, or all that they sell. But that i guess over time they will leak. So they have to be over-tightened to seal. Buddy has had a few come back to him where he works, that they were super low on oil. And sure enough that was the issue. *06 330i - Sundern x12 - saz-3500* *91 Foxbody V1 S-Trim Notch*
Skullz
You have bigger problems than losing oil. You'll have to find out if the pvc valve plugged or something else that is plugged causing the engine to build enough pressure to blow the front seal or pan gasket. I would fill it with oil and take it to the mechanic that just rebuilt it and have him see what happened to it and fix it. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2

Pioneerchuck
Wouldn't it have been easier just to ask your father in law? But if it is the cam seal, simple fix, just sucks because it's only a $5 rubber seal.
