Dc 620 Tac
I got questions about amps what ones to use. Mostly the amp for my speakers put 4 alpine sps-406 in stock locations on my c1500. Going to put two lpg 26na dome tweeters on the a- pillar. I don't know what kind of amp how many watts is needed, and how to wire speakers to amp. Also have a kicker kx3 active crossover to go in the mix. Dc 620 Tac
Can I use one amp to power all four speakers and two tweeters. Would I get a four channel amp and wire the two tweeters with the front speakers, are would I have to run a separate amp for tweeters. How many watts would the amp(s) have to be if speakers are 45 watts rms and tweets are 80 watt. I'm wanting a decent sounding system with a medium budget. Thanks Any help is appreciated! BoomZoom808
You can do what you are asking but it will create a uneven ohm load across the amp heat sink running two 4 ohm speakers in parallel would be 2 ohms up front and 4 ohm on the back channels. I try to avoid that. You also want to get an amp close to the rms of your speakers if you don't have a lot of experience tuning. IMO the best option would be to get a comp set up front as it will help widen the sound stage and give you a better sound. You will eventually want to do this. If the money isn't there we all understand that. Another option would be to get a 4 channel amp for your mids and run your tweeters off the head unit. Some other more seasoned members might have a better suggestion for you. Good luck lots of good amps out there read up and take your pic. 2010 Mazda 3s 2.5L Pioneer DEH-X9600BHS Knu OFC 1/0 SS Platinum AGM / XS Power XP750 Alpine PDX F-4 / Morel Maximo 5 + Coax 5 IA 10.1 / SSA XCON

BoomZoom808
Pushes you close to clipping faster. Probably my fault but I've blown a tweeter on my Diamond D1 mids when I had it wired in parallel with my tweeters. Not saying it wasn't my fault but wiring 4 ohm per channel give you more buffer and room for error. 2010 Mazda 3s 2.5L Pioneer DEH-X9600BHS Knu OFC 1/0 SS Platinum AGM / XS Power XP750 Alpine PDX F-4 / Morel Maximo 5 + Coax 5 IA 10.1 / SSA XCON
