Swordlordboy1234
Wouldn't the gains be lower if the gains were set with the car off? To me it sounds like you should set your gains and at what ever voltage you set them is where the amps would clip at. So if you set it with 14.4v then anything below that your clipping? RooTxBeeR
I remember asking this a long time ago when I first got mine, and everyone said engine on. cubs_fan0718
Ive always set mine with my car running, never had a problem what so ever. When Steve is showing his videos on YT doesn't he always have the batteries charging at the same time? that would almost be like having your car running wouldn't it? RooTxBeeR
Do as I say, not as I do. Then no one would run <1ohm, make 4th/6th orders, and other things like that. lol. Sutliff
The manual does not say, ...which is why I said it does not matter. Dicking around last summer, I adjusted my two RF Power amps, & I cannot even begin to explain how tiny a difference there was between the same tracks & same H/U volume levels, etc. If I had to put a number to what the differences were ... it was less than HALF of one number. If it was a 3 OFF, then it started tickling the distortion LED just shy of 3.5. I will just end this with stating that this was MY experience with the DD-1 that I had, & the system & set-up(s) I had. Your experiences may differ. CleanSierra
It was said long ago from Steve himself, I believe, to set with the vehicle OFF. The reason behind it was so the noise of the vehicle itself(alternator whine for example) wasn't a possible factor with the vehicle being off. With the vehicle OFF, there isn't going to be that possible distortion to allow the device to accurately measure and isolate what's going on with the amp and HU. 1 Quote Im not the one you want to try to troll. Kyblack76
I've always done it off and even let the bats go down turning my lights on. From Tony before I even had my amps in. Facebook message. "I'd use car off because the voltages will sag when the amp hits, so it will be closer I feel " I run normally in the low 13's. Lol. Soooo. That's just me.
